Stories in Comments?

Does anyone get stories in the comment section of your submitted works?

I have a story here:

And there's a comment that's 500-600 words worth of another person writing their own story. That's a first for me. Is that a usual thing? Do you folks get this too?
It’s not happened to me. But but I have heard of it happening to other people. An odd thing to do really.

I've had it happen. The reader's story was kinda creepy.
I’ve had suggestions for additions. E.g. “it would have been better if the MMC licked his cum out of the FMC’s ass at the end”. But not while stories.

I would have to review comments I have made, but I have a nagging suspicion I may have actually done something somewhat similar to some extent actually, or at least commented at comparable length. Or at very least I can sort of imagine such happening.

In my latest a commenter wrote several paragraphs about how it could only have been better if the FCs had lush blonde bushes and introduced their brothers into their sex lives and went on to have gay sex between the brothers. There were no brothers in the story. Cool story bro!

Then write it, dear Liza, dear Liza, then write it, dear Liza, dear Liza, write it!

Yes. I get mini fan fictions in my comments section all the time. They're the only comments I've ever considered deleting just so I can't get accused of plagiarism if our ideas ever overlap.

Yes, I've gotten one, where the commenter said his neighbor had the same name as my MC. He then went on to tell how she was prison guard IRL, and I surmise she worked at a male prison(in his story). His fantasy story revolved around what his MC was doing with the inmates and had absolutely nothing to do with my story other than a shared name. It was in the IR category.

That's one way to get a story published on Literotica -- Especially well-suited for those without patience to go through the usual process.

Yes, ShortyMac. He wrote 678 words actually. Isn't the usual minimum 750? No paragraph breaks.

"I never know what to say with these I have had a strange life." The best of his biography is worth reading too. Been here since last year, never contributed anything, but he has a lot of favorites. Gave the story a "solid ten stars." What scale is he working on?

Should somebody tell him to publish something already?

If this is genuine (or therapeutic) for the commenter, it could be the wanting to have a purpose for writing (many men are solution oriented and will mentally conjure a reason other than their own needs to give them permission to write their stuff out) but not wanting to expose themselves to the slings and arrows of public posting.

Maybe it's legit and getting smacked around in his own comment section is too high risk for the reward.

If men are "solution oriented," then writing seems like a good solution for whatever. Maybe I just don't think the same way.

I have never gotten a comment that long, but I have gotten stories before. usually along the lines of "This story reminds me of a time I went to......"

Mostly I think it's harmless and just brought out by them enjoying my story.

Once in a while it's positively creepy.

Often I get complaint/suggestions like "You should have made the main character pregnant and a redhead and tall and named her Ellen and had her run naked through a Burger King with cum all over her face at the end." Sometimes those suggestions fit the story, and other times they are so far disconnected from what I wrote that I wonder if they're leaving the comment in the wrong place.

Yes. I've had long comments, telling me how they think the story should have gone, sometimes with an alternate ending. I also get readers telling me about their own sexual experiences, which are probably mostly fiction. Which always has me wondering why they don't just submit a story, and tell the world about their threesome with a pair of gorgeous stacked strippers.

At least they know what they want!

I've had a few people respond to incest stories with their "accounts" of their own past experiences. Whether they're real or not, I have no idea.
I've no clue how common-place incest is IRL. In the small town where we lived, I never heard of one consensual case of incest from anyone. Years ago, after joining Lit.com, I was shocked at the popularity of incest stories.

I don't think incest is widespread in RL. I think Lit. is established as the place to come to read/write stories about it.

Yea, but how could we possibly know? Seems like families keep this one of their best-kept secrets.

Not directing it at anyone in particular though I will say I've noticed an undercurrent of "needing a reason to write" beyond self-enrichment.

Score/comment chasing. Courting an specific reading audience rather than seeing where the characters unfurl for you, etc.

Nothing inherently wrong with any of the more regular reasons but I wouldn't get out of writing what I need to get out of writing by sticking mostly to polls or a blueprint.

Obviously a real class act there. And kind of intrusive too: "You should have made . . ." The only time I've used Burger King is to comment on how ugly their uniforms are, or used to be anyway.

I would simply delete the comment - If they want to write their story, the comments section of another author's story, is not the place for it. They should write it an post it. Piggybacking on my story to get someone to read theirs is bad manners.

There's been a rash of these threads lately.

I just delete them. If they wish to write a story, they can submit it like I do.
