Hi, JL. I've been a way and I've returned for a day to the country before heading back to Paris tomorrow. There is a big sense of anticipation here with a buzz of excitement about politics. It reminds me of those soft porn films of the 70's "I am a curious yellow", "Blue" and "adeleine39" (If the name's right - it was really a great love story), in which the political scene built up a sexual energy. As a young man I didn't understand why they needed any politics in these sex films - now I see that being a sexual adult is about being a full person and I understand it much better.

It's a big, big holiday here, so everything goes quiet now while the Pernod is attacked. The French then sit at table for 5 hours - those who have not joined the "manifestations", that is. It's a family day so not a lot of naughty stuff goes on. That's often reserved for working days, during the mandatory long lunch break.

wednsday morning here...wednsdays are a long day for me...i'll go to my wood shop this morning and put the finishing touches on an art decco jewelry box i've been working on...then to the music store til 6...dinner at one of the local eateries and then a regular wed night gig at my favorite bar...bars close at midnight here on weekday nights so i'll get everything packed up by 12:30 and home by 1:00...diversity, one of the many spices of life...
