Stolen story!

She'll probably just go through and delete all of them.

As long as a few people see.

And enough people have notified MySpace.

I also dropped a note off at Lusty Library - I saw a few stories had been snagged from there.

She really has nowhere to run, now. The walls be closing in!

;)

Has anyone that has a pilfered story reported her to the website people? (which was it? tripod? lycos?) Pretty much everything she has at MySpace, she has on her website.

You know what's strange?

I tried to add a comment on her website on one of her poems (I think stolen from whispersecret) and when I clicked there it bumped me back to her MySpace page.

I couldn't navigate it. Too much crap - it gave me a headache.

The only comments I saw were ones that were copied from MySpace. They even had their pictures and everything.

What I don't understand is how anyone could feel good about calling someone else's work their's. Is that something to be proud of? Being a thief? WTF?

Oh, yes. She'll go through and delete 'em, but she'll have much less luck deleting the reports to the site.

Before she deletes them, others will see them and read them and check on their veracity. When the others see they are true, they may have somethng unkind to say also.

I have been looking for one of my stories, but haven't found it. As far as I know, neither of mine has ever been stolen by anybody.

I saw that - LOL!

It also said she hasn't logged in since yesterday.

I don't have a blog, so I wonder if you get email alerts elsewhere when there are comments to your blog? If so, and she's already received these comments in the mail, she may never wish to log in again!

:)

You can set it so you either get notifications of blog comments or you don't. My guess is she'll just delete the comments she got and start damage control. People like that will defend themselves til the end. I just hope her readers are smart enough to know that if more than one person is saying the same thing, perhaps it's true.

Maybe when more of us have time, just start bombarding all her stories with comments about plagiarism? That'd really throw her off kilter a bit more.

Oh and I had the same problem on her Lycos page, all the links led back to MySpace, but oddly enough, the link she used led back to my own blog so she was copying code from perhaps a login page or something, that's my guess.

She has another myspace page under the name "jai mohler" (it's in her friends list, near or at the top). She's a singer who's toured the world and the music playing there is her karaoke version of a Divinyls song.

i dont think any of my work has been taken, but i ripped into her just the same, AH Solidarity!

At myspace, you get an email alert when you get get a new email, comment, blog comment, etc, but you can't see it with out logging in. Since her last log-in was 5/27, I'm going to guess she hasn't seen them yet. My hope is that she'll just pull down her entire page when she does - it's easy to do at myspace. My fear is that she'll just build another one and start all over again.

Thanks to all of my AH family for helping me whoop up on her! She is really taking a beating - and such a polite and well articulated one! We totally rock!

I'm logging into myspace now to see what this bitch is up to.

Added my 2 cents. I'm sorry that this happened to you : (

I just looked - how funny!

The latest five or six story blogs of hers were stolen. I added links to the original works in the comments. She changed titles, in some places changed character names, she even rewrote a poem just a bit.

I wonder if anything she posted is original?

I also wonder if she's getting thrilled at all the new comments she's been receiving. Until she finally signs in, that is.

NOpe, nothing is original-- and on her lycos site, she's claiming pirated artworks as her original one-of-a-kinds :(

This is a desperately lonely woman, who's found a little appreciation-- wrongly. Really sad, I think.

Which didn't stop me from reporting her to lycos. :(:(

It is sad. Very sad, especially when you read the way she's responded to some of the gushing comments about "her" work. :(

But she's a grown-up gal, and this is very deliberate. Especially when she changed the names of characters, changed the titles, changed things just enough to attempt to avoid detection. And artwork too?

It is good you reported her. :rose:

(Edited to add - maybe we should ask her to try her own hand at writing. She seems to have a lot of time to give this this. I noticed quite a few typos in her blog comments but people could help.)

I would like to add an insulting comment as everybody else has, but I can't :confused:seem to log on or get permission or anything else except read the plagiarized stories. I wonder if she has any of mine.

you need to have an account at myspace

I was thinking that too. Then I thought-- *slap* stop it, Stella!

See? It's not just me!

She sounds like a frustrated writer, and she certainly has good taste in the stories she's stolen.

She should write.

(Okay, maybe she'll really suck. But maybe not!)
