Stimulating the rich

RawHumor said:
That's not what I said at all.

The first group is NOT necessarily rich. They (we) just understand economics.

But, according to the second group, the first group MUST be rich or they wouldn't be defending the rights of the rich.

I defend only me. I owned a business with 60 employees. I know how this works and what the government does to the business owner, first fucking hand. And in turn... it hurt the family of folks who did work for me.

You're right of course, but I still object strenuously to you trying to add to my perfectly crafted post.

Stop.

You had me at "You're right of course".

I used to work for a company that had between 4 and 9 employees at any given time. They'd get FAXes from the Small Business Owners Association (or whatever it's called).

I wish I had some of them now to post on here.

Of course. Everyone who disagrees with you does so simply because they're ignorant.

(Just for the record, I've been talking WAAAAYYYY over my head for the last page and a half of economic theory.)

The two groups in this thread can be identified fairly readily.

The first group consists of those who think individuals should all pay an equal percentage of taxes (more or less). Those are people who feel that for the most part the "rich" got that way through fair means, and that they deserve to reap the rewards of their success.

The second group seems to think that the "rich" are all bad and should be punished for their success. Their money should be taken and redistributed to the "poor" because at best, life is a crap shoot, and at worst it's a horrific plot by the Bilderbergers.

In other words, it's all about envy and bitterness.

I'm not sure which group I fit in. I'm poor now but plan to be rich very soon! :)

Most "poor people" don't understand that approximately 7.5% of their income goes to SS tax... 15.3% if you are self-employed

It's too easy to bitch when someone else get's theirs, and they percieve they aren't getting what they should (according to some principal in their own minds)

I owned my own business between 90-97, and the majority of my taxes were SS taxes. I paid very little in federal income tax...My best year I made just over $25,000....

So, it really doesn't bother me when a rich man(let's use the $200,000 yardstick) get's back 2% of his income on a tax break, and a poor person gets back 2%....all things being equal, you both get 2% back....but it's easier to bitch when the rich person get's $4000 back, and the poor person making $26,000 get's back $52....well, go out and earn more if you don't like it!!

Should the rich now have to pay for your SS taxes as well??

Of course! What was I thinking? How could I have missed such a simple solution?

I just stumbled into this thread in the first place. I was hoping to see pics of hot, naked, rich women being stimulated.

Alas...

REDWAVE created the thread, so if there were pics, they would be of men being stimulated.

I'm pretty sure that's where we're headed.

I'm sure you're right....Becuase more and more people are holding their hands out with the expectation of some new "entitlement". It's because their poor though.......

You could be a self-help guru!

"You're only as poor as you let yourself be!"

Actually, I think I'll be the self-help guru. That'll be my way of making more! Nobody better steal my quote!

I'm assuming that was a sarcastic reply.........

I shall elaborate....

Most people, for whatever reason will put blinders on to the realities available to them...at the same time, they will find themselves in a rut.

Most will not make the sacrifices (temporary as they may be) to improve thier situation, and then complain about their lot in life.

For someone coming out of high school without any real direction, they can go into the military and get Hi-tech skills that will apply to the civilian sector, but most will thing that 4-6 years of their life is too much to ask for in return for real skills, but they complain about not having the money to go to college.

There are still alot of opportunities out there if one just looks...

No thanks, I'm too busy living the "American dream", the one that says the harder I work, the more I have to pay for someone who doesn't want to work too hard, in this way I'm helping "myself".....hehe

Hey, no one has to work hard to churn out bogus self-help books. Why didn't I think of this sooner?

Make sure you buy a copy when it shows up in the local Borders!

Okay, but I get "we create our own realities".....fair nuff?

I want to think that the money I pay in taxes goes to help those less fortunate in this country. But, the thought that mine is probably going into the billions that we give Russia, Israel, and all the other countries, usually creeps into my mind.

Alright, but only because your post was the springboard for my idea. ;)

Fair enough.....other than taking exception to my one sting line, I noticed you were conspicously void of comment concerning the rest of my post.......Hmmmmm.

I try to avoid revealing any real political leanings. Don't want to get type-cast, you know. ;)
