We live in a world where the most usual phrase directed to us is:"OMG YOU'RE GLTB?" :)
Soo this is where you can post any stupid stereotypes/anti-gay phrases you've heard/learned/spread(!?).

-Male iceskaters are all gays XD
-Women should stay home and wait for their husband(I heard it from somebody's granny..Scary..)

Just curious as to how thats a GLBT stereotype...it seems more anti-feminist.

I can't stand Barbara Striesand, but no one believes me when I tell them so.

i can't stand her either, so your not alone.

My Favorite

...was when one of the other teachers at my school said, "Malana, haven't you ever just thought about going to teach in San Francisco?"

No matter how many men i sleep with... i STILL have no fashion sence whatsoever! I try so hard...

The line I get alot is "OMG your transman and you like men? Transmen are supposed to date women." WTF? Why can't I be a gay man?

People seem to think that all FtM's are supposed to date women, specifically lesbians... PLEASE.... Why on earth would a lesbian want to date a transman?

I've even seen this happen in a few of the FtM support groups, particularly one that used to meet near me. It folded because the Mod would seperate the newbies from the guys that dated males then preach his own plans to them. He told them they should get the hormones, get top surgery and marry a lesbian and that this was the only way to do it.

When I tell people I am a designer and they say "oh you must be gay."

If you have long hair and wear makeup, you aren't a lesbian. (And this I heard from GAY people.)

I get this sometimes too. As if I have to be a shaved head bull dyke to actually like women, or I have to like butches to be a lipstick.

This might be somewhat off topic, but I recently was read the riot act for being liking women. One of my friends boyfriend was really unhappy about bi/les chic and decided it was somehow the women's fault. I was thinking about defending myself and firing back at him, but then I realized, "Hey, I haven't done anything wrong." I don't want the fan club of straight men following me around, I didn't cast a spell to make straight America like lesbians more than gay men, and my relationship with my own mother is still strained because of my coming out. This was an isolated, one time, incident, but this isn't the first time I've been the complaint department for people that felt bi/les was either just a fad or unfair to gay men. I'm not sure I get how it's my fault or my problem.

Lol-I was kinda drunk XD

So in reference to my first post:
-all lesbian wifes should stay home and wait for they're lesbian husbands XD
See?It DOES have something to do with GLTB :)
Anyway, I got off-topic in my own thread -_- ..

A friend of mine told me this:'You liked two men in a row? That doesn't make you bi..You're gay...'
And I answered:'Omg...'

It's kinda weird that many people believe bisexuality just vanishes like that...

Xd

Actually it's not a stupid question.
It's an emoticon for when you laugh with closed eyes.
Kinda like :-D. The X is the eyes.
X-D <--this sucks so I write XD

And I have become annoyingly used to it...

;)

Ahh...I see. I thought it was some sortof weird signature you had taken to using...

I've found that many (not just straight folks either) seem to think that lesbians are generally prone to "make exceptions" and sleep with men now and again. I imagine it's mostly people who don't understand the concept of bisexuality or people that has seen Chasing Amy one time too many. Very annoying.

Also, it's not really a stereotype, but I hate it when someone sprouts something like "everyone is bisexual!" or something closely related. It's usually bisexuals who are of this opinion, obviously. That kind of smug implication that they know me and all other gays, lesbians and straight people better than we know ourselves irks me a lot. To claim this is no better than all the bigoted straight people who claim that homosexuality is a choice or something we do to be rebellious, and that we're really straight deep down inside.

It's used on a bunch of other websites, specifically geekier ones... it's internet shorthand that the non-gaming types might not be familiar with.

*is a nerd*
*retreats back into the shadows*

I am a lesbian and I *sob* HATE FOLK MUSIC.

I think this is why I'm single right now, incidentally...

Actually, I kind of hope everybody is just a tiny bit bisexual. I'd love to see Jerry Falwell caught by paparazzi while on a date with a guy! :p

because said lesbian could happen to love the transman and not care about sterotypes or anything else because love doesn't distinguish gender

One stereotype I find funny is that all trannys love Cher and/or Madonna.

yeah.. but that would lead to the sterotype that homosexuality is the gateway drug to beastiality..........

Fallwell did fuck a goat didn't he?

well at least according to Larry Flynt....

*raises hand shamefully*
Sadly, I thought FtM's and MtF's only liked members of their post-op opposite sex. That is until I came to Lit! See, this place -is- a learning tool! :D Thank you for the lessons.

I admit to keeping my bi-side hidden from friends and co-workers for the full five years i've been playing around with men.....

what I don't understand is why women and men who advertise on swing/hook-up sites looking for single men..... will not consider a man who describes himself as bi~curious? I love women just as much as an straight guy... but it seems that too many people label "bi" as just being totally gay.......

It's a tad annoying.. but I'm not really one to talk..... like I said my bi~side is only known in Cyberia and those that I physically meet through here.......
