Star Wars: Return of the Sith

Daelon

Daelon led Dartum first to the officer's quarters, where he fixed the jedi up a glass of a swirling, deep blue mixture, which he then passed to Dartum. Daelon waved his hand at the hallway, with rooms on either side.
"These are the officer's quarters, nothing exciting really. Let's move on." Daelon quickly spoke. "I know you're eager to see our defences."
The young padawan waited for Dartum to finish the liquid, before taking the glass and placing it amongst the dirty dishes. He then led the mysterious jedi out and towards the hangar.
"Coming up here on our right is the hangar," Daelon began as they came close. When the hangar came into view, they stopped. Before and below them was a large space, with a few ships parked on the tarmac. A few men who looked like tiny dots from up here were running around checking out the ships. They must have been the service crew.
"We have a decent number of the latest model X-wings, but really not enough to defend against the army you spoke of..." Daelon said, as much to himself as to Dartum, as he considered the reality of the situation.
"Ok." Daelon continued, breaking out of his momentary thought. "Next on the agenda is the weapons bay."

Kerra Shiran

When Tholin lets go of her hand & starts pacing, she sit down on his bunk. The room was too small to have the both of them stand, let alone someone pacing around in it at his size. Being an avid of history & tales, Kerra listened intently to what he had to say & watched his form move around. Without needing to call on the force, she can see that he is undecided in his feelings. *Tholin can't make up his mind weather to teach me or be indifferent.* She smiles inwardly. *I may make an impact on this man's life yet.*

When she is given the data pad, Kerra looks at the coordinates then puts it down. "This location is not anywhere near Nar Shaddaa." She moves around him to the computer terminal in his room. Turning it on then typing a few keys pulls up a galactic map, with a few more keystrokes three flashing lights appear on the map. She points to the blue one, then the red & finally the orange. "Ok, this is where we are now, here is where we are headed & this is the coordinates that you gave. This is in a totally opposite direction from where we are going."

"In fact, I have never traveled there." Kerra then types in a few more keystrokes & some of the planets glow brighter. She then indicates the yellow dots. "See those are the places I have been to & as you can see there are none near what you gave me. Just what could be of interest to you out there?"

Raine

"In all honesty, Kelson," I began. "I think the man's words sound odd myself, however, it would seem wise to have the nearest outposts that we know of informed of this information. They cannot send troops in time to help us, not in any real fashion, but they can send clean-up crews to help any survivors escape if such an attack actually occur. Hesitation here might spell death for many who donot need to die."
I looked at the man for a moment, certain he was thinking, but unsure if it was on my words.
"Perhaps I should have contacted them myself and left you to spy on him. You can trust Daelon with him, you know?" I insisted. "Padawans they may be, but they are certainly not fools."

Marius

A strange sensation came over me as I neared Raine and Kelson. I glanced back, wondering what might have caused it, but having an odd sensation that my new association Tynan had something to do with it.
A surgence in the force, I thought, but why?
Neither had seemed to feel it, which told me that it was indeed on account of Tynan. Often, I'd learned those that have had closer contacts with someone or something, have stronger feelings for what it feels, even when not together.
I stopped, not sensing that the man intended or was in any immediate danger, and waited as the two Jedis talked, not wanting to interrupt them.

Kelson tipped his head in acknowledgement of the padawan's presence.

"You are certainly correct that he is no fool, but even the wisest of men have faults. We shall speak more of this later, let us speak with the next guest...I'll be along in a moment, actually. I will place that message on its way to the outpost."

Raine

I nodded to Kelson, then turned and headed toward Marius, stopping before him and raising my eyebrows in question.
"The visitor is outback, with a small boy he's brought with him. Beegas is keeping track of him, but he seems to intend no harm. He is intent on having the boy trained," he explained. "He also says that he felt some sort of surge in the force, a wave I believe is how he worded it, while on Tattooine. Something about a psychic scream. Does this make sense to you?"
I thought on his words for a moment.
"Not in my experience, has there been any kind of scream in the force," I ansered.
"And Raine," he added. "He mentioned the Sith."
"Sith..." I pondered. "We will discuss that information later. You will tell me all he has told you. For now, this information stays right here. Do not repeat any of it."
He nodded. I looked back to him, waiting for the arrogance to surface, the pride of having discovered something that I didn't intend for him to discover.
Nothing. Not a trace of it.
Yes, quite well controlled and contained when he needed to be. He would be a Jedi. And possibly soon.
"What do you wish of me now, master?" He asked.
"Kelson and I will meet with Tynan," I replied, "I want you to meditate for a few minutes, see if you can sense anything out of place about this entire situation. Two visitors, both practiced in the arts of the force, both arriving the same day...too much to not have a meaning behind it."
He nodded.
"Concentration is the key," I said, then started off toward the back. Marius turned and headed back to meditate as asked. I moved quickly toward where Tynan was waiting.
As I exited the back of the complex to where Tynan sat, I could hear the whispered words drift toward me or should I say I felt them.
It seems like I have some more questions for the Jedi were the words I picked up.
The boy sat to meditate then, and I wandered over to where Tynan sat, his mind distant.
"Questions?" I asked. "I belive I might have some as well. Shall we begin with business? Or shall we catch up a little first?"

Mogo

I wasn't sure where exactly she intended to take us, but I kept to the course we'd discussed earlier. With Kerra, there was little predictability and lots of surprise. And with the Tholin character...?
"Hey, Orin," I glanced over to him, "I don't suppose you've got something to drink?"

Tyna rose to his feet. it was a sign of his unease that he hadn't heard Raine walk up. It's highly unusual for anyone to be able to sneak up on him, and Jedi DuVall hadn't even been trying.

"Hello Raine," he said, forcing a smile on his face. He felt Luke look up. "Continue your exercises, Luke." The boys eyes slipped shut again.

He studied the Jedi before him. She hadn't changed much. He couldn't help but wonder if she had learned to smile. As for catching up... he wasn't sure if he wanted to open that up. He was sure she knew of his bounty hunting, and most likely didn't approve. He hadn't met a Jedi yet who had. His face turned serious.

"I came here to find training for the boy, but something else came up that we need to discuss."

Tynan related his vision to her, word for word. He knew it wasn't unusual for Master's to come back and visit there apprentices, but have never heard of anything like his experience. It was as if something had been trying to stop the Jedi master from making contact. For good measure, he told her what he had felt on Tatooine, even though he was sure Marius already had.

"I was hoping you had some information. The Sith are rising again, and i don't like it." His brows lowered, and his eyes were hard as a Wookiees head. "There's trouble coming."

Raine

"Yes," I agreed. "Much trouble, that I hope we have the strength to face with truth in our hearts, but I fear will be the end of the justice we represent. The Sith are apparently returning, as strong as ever and wanting revenge. And we...we are a shell of what we once were, with only ourselves to guide us and no council to share their wisdom. It will be a test to our very souls."
I looked him in the eye as I said this last part, staring into them.
"As far as your vision goes, I don't know what to say. Perhaps Skywalker wishes for you to find your true self, Tynan. It has been some time since you have served the the will of the force, which has served you well, I'm certain." I paused, wondering if I should continue. I felt like I was a school marm lecturing a student, but I couldn't hold back. Such thoughts unspoken could be a burden to one's soul. Properly spoken, I might help Tynan become what he always should have been.
"Bounty hunting is a prize game, not one of virtue. Only through virtue can we find ourselves, Tynan. Marlik used to tell me that and I thought him an over-optimistic saint, someone who asked more than mankind could deliver, but I've found that while the path of honesty and fairness is not an easy one, it is the only one deserving of a Jedi to follow," I explained. "You are still a Jedi, Tynan. At heart. I've always known that. Perhaps it is time you lived up to that. Now when we need your help the most."

Tholin Mod, Sith Warrior

What pulls me there? I am not entirely sure, but I knothat I must be at that planet, and soon. " I am being guided, little one. The Force is guiding my life now, and it wants me to be on this planet, as soon as I can get there. And I cannot also help but feel that you need to be there also, with me." I begin pacing again, thoughts and emotions warring inside me. "Kerra, I have been thinking about our... relationship. If you will have me, then I will accept you as my apprentice, but with one option. If I find a Jedi willing to take you as padawan, you will apprentice to them. I will not teach you the ways of the Sith, only of the Force. Can you live with those terms, and do you accept?"

Not overly unexpected...Raine had always disapproved of her master's choice of paths in life. Not to say it was a bad one, but a jedi bounty hunter? There was no jedilic virtues to be found in that field.

Tynan studied Raine for a moment, frowning. He hadn't come for a lecture. The unsettling part was, it sounded so damned familiar. Master Skywalker had always been concerned over his lack of discipline. He had chided him one more than one occasion for not submitting the the Force. Unfortunately, submitting was not in his nature. He had always sought to control it, instead. To bend it to his will.

There had also been a differing of opinions. His problem had been that he had always believed the Jedi limited themselves by using only half of what they were capable of. He thought there mistrust of the 'Dark' side was superstition. He believed he could meld the two sides, and use them as they were meant to be used.

Now, he wasn't so sure. He had dipped into the Dark side when needed, but had never felt the level of malevolence he had felt in his vision. He had never known it to be so.... evil. Perhaps it was time to rethink his ideals. Perhaps.

"I will assist you in any way I can, in the trials to come." He could not promise more. Not yet. He still had much thinking to do.

"As for the Sith," he shrugged, "We should contact any other Jedi you know of, and let them know the Sith have in fact returned, and are planning something. One, Darth Storm... Dev Farshaw was his name, has been eliminated." He wasn't sure if Raine would remember his best friend or not, they had met only briefly, or whether she knew that one of the Jedi had actually been turned. Either way, it didn't matter now.

"If Dev could be turned... anyone could." He knew he wasn't telling them anything they couldn't have figured out themselves. The truth is, he was babbling. His world had been turned on its head, and he was still trying to regain his footing. Which reminded him. "What of the boy, will he be trained?"

Daelon

Daelon now showed his guest to the weapons bay, where all the anti-air weapons were stationed. He pointed them out, hoping the rail launchers would be able to hold up against an army.
"Finest weapons this side of Coruscant, if I do say so myself." he announced. He didn't mention the problem was their number. Something about Dartum's hard eyed stare at the anti-air weapons made Daelon shiver.
"Okay, okay, now to the vehicle hangar. That's where we keep all the APCs." he said, gesturing for the other jedi to follow him.

Raine

"The boy..." I muttered. "I cannot say for certain. Many tests must be done, to see if he is capable, though from my first impressions, I believe he is very much so. This may not be the time for training, not when so many of our Jedi will be occupied with the future encounters with the Sith."
"Dev Farshaw," I said aloud. "That name sounds familiar..."
I looked to him, his face grim. Someone he must have known better, so I let it drop.
"I'll arrange for quarters for you and the boy should you decide to stay. Otherwise, I would suggest you take him with you. If the Sith do attack, he is not safe here, nor can we guarantee any safe passage elsewhere."

Tynan was thankful to Raine for not pressing about Dev. The wound was still fresh.

"If the Sith decide now is the time to make their move, nowhere will be safe for any who are Force talented," he replied, frowning. "I would be grateful for some rooms."

Kerra Shiran

"Can you live with those terms, and do you accept?" ~ The words run thru her head after Tholin says them. Kerra looks up at him with eyes not seeing her thoughts go inward. She play with what has happened in the last few hours in her mind's eye. Then opening all her senses to the force, she seeks her answer.

Kerra without realizing it, she starts to say out loud what she sees. "A lush green planet is hiding a secret." She pauses then frowns. "A rebel base. The Jedi are there, several of them. Someone, something knows they are there. Seeks to destroy them." She doesn't describe any more but starts screaming. Tholin grabs her arms to shakes her back to her senses. When his hand touches her, a different vision forms.

She grabs on to him. "Papa, Aunty Arianna showed me her light saber that granny gave her at my age. She sez it will be mine when I am old enough. It has a red blade & a hidden one in the handle." The vision ends, as she comes back to the present remembering nothing. Pushing herself away from Tholin, she goes back to sitting on the bed, and then looks back up at him. "Why are you staring at me like that, Master Tholin? What happened? I feel really weak." She holds her head in a moment of dizziness.

Viser/Dartum

"This is fascinating," he said to himself more than to anyone else. His eyes darted back and forth to different things.
"Much, much, more than I expected," it was a shame that it would be useless. The defences were a joke, a few well placed explosions and it would all be over.
Would they surrender, or fight to the death?
No, neither. Unfortunately, Bailen will back off before the fight gets too out of hand. He wants the Jedi alive so he can kill them himself.
"Vehicle hanger, I would love to see that. Been on many ships, but not too many vehicles. How many people are here on the base?"
He didn't care much for the attack, just felt that some polite conversation was in order.

Daelon

"Hmmm. It's been a while since I checked the figures... always people coming and going. Last time I checked we had some 500 or so." Daelon spoke as they passed through a corridor, Dartum behind him. They passed out of the corridor, the vehicle hangar coming into view on their left. Daelon gestured to it.
"Actually, our equipment in this sector is a little outdated, I do believe. But then, there's always new products being brought out, so it's a little hard to keep up. Each of those can house about 5 men." he said, gesturing to a group of large tank-like vehicles in a row along the wall. "Firepower can be a little touchy at times, but it would take a fair bit to blast through that armour." he said. He fell into silence for a moment, allowing Dartum to take in the scene.
"Well, that's about all of the defense systems. I could take you to the generators and back-up generators, but I'm sure you don't want to see that. They all look the same, right?" he said with a smile, before he remembered he was dealing with another jedi here, and his smile faded. "Ahem. Where would you like to go then?"

Tholin Mod, Sith Warrior

Kera's words ripped through my, knocking my strength out of my body. I sat down heavily on the bed, my face white with shock.

"Kerra, what was your grandmothers name?"

Dartum

Dartum nodded at what he had seen. Excellent, very excellent. This would prove viable indeed.
"Now? I suppose the other jedi shall have finished conversing, and have plenty of questions for me. Back to the meeting room, I believe. Afterwards, I wouldn't mind having some private quarters to myself. I want to meditate and relax before tomorrow's fight."
The funny thing was, he wasn't joking. Every since he had jumped out of the ship, all he had thought about was wanting to meditate, relax, open his mind. It was as if the crystal was driving him to do more than just shower out jedi rays, but become on himself.
He let that thought go. His hold on the dark side was as strong as ever.
As they walked back though, he wasn't quite sure how true that thought was.

Daelon

Daelon pondered Dartum's words. He had said tommorow... from what had been said, Daelon had gathered that the attack could not be too far away, but tomorrow?
But one good thing had come up from Dartum's words, and that was that he said he would be participating in the fight. It would be good to have other jedi at their side, even one, when the fight begun. And Daelon could sense that the force was strong with this one.
The two had walked in thoughtful silence for some time, and now they were back to the meeting room.

Kerra Shiran

"Kerra, what was your grandmother's name?" Tholin's voice registers in her head. "My grandmother's name ... I don't remember." She holds her head then looks up at him. "Did I just do something? I was seeking an answer with the force." She reaches out to the force again with eyes not seeing. "Her name was Decima." Blinking & refocusing on him this time remembering what she just said. "Decima mean anything to you? Master Tholin? Because you're white as a sheet."

Before he could answer, Kerra staggers over to the comm at the terminal. Flipping it on, she gives Mogo instructions. "Mogo, there’s been a change of course." She gives him the coordinates off the data pad. "Yes, I know. The package has a deadline." She listens to his reply. “I know this is going to screw our rep but, by the force, we need to be there. I had another one of those episodes. The ones where I don’t remember a thing I said or did.”

She takes a look at Tholin then speaks into the comm again. “What ever I did. Tholin doesn’t look to good.” She tiredly sighs. “Mogo, between the two of you will the repairs to the Owl’s hyper drive last till after this trip? Or do we have to make a stop on the way over there? And another thing can we deliver the package on the way there?” She hears both Mogo & Orin grumble about her & the Sith, plus telling Kerra the state of the ship.

“Yes, I know. I am being totally unreasonable. Please keep me informed. Tholin need my attention now.” She flips the comm off & goes to sit back down on the bed with him. Kerra touches his face & looks into his eyes. “Master Tholin can you hear me. Are you alright?” He look as white as a sheet bleached under the twin suns of Tatooine.

Tholin Mod, Sith Warrior

I was in shock. this child was my Decima's gandchild. She must have been pregnant when I went away to serve my lord. I was a father! By the Force, I was a grandfather!
"Kerra, my mates name was Decima, & I gave her my very first lightsaber before I left. It had a red blade, and when you hit a hidden stud in the handle a 8" knifeblade came out of the base of it. From what you have said, you are my granddaughter. If you have a medical kit on the ship we can probably verify it, but it feels true to me."
Now it was Kerra's turn to go white. I guess thats how I looked a moment ago.
"I guess I should explain some things, primarily why I look like a man of 35 & have grown grandchildren." *Gods, do I have more prodgeny out amoung the stars??*
I got up & began pacing again, talking rapidly. " All I am now is a product of my past. some things I have done I am not proud of, & some most people would not understand, but the core of my being has always been duty. I was a servent of the Emperor, one of his personal bodyguard. I was a member of the Sovergn Protectors, if you remember what they were. I met Decima while I was in the Protectors, assigned to check out what the Hutts were doing. She was a slave to Zorba the Hutt, running a pleasure barge on Ylesia. She was unusual in two ways, one, she was dathmirri, & thats a interdicted palnet, and two, she was very strong with the Dark Side. To my suprise we fell in love, tho it was anything but a peaceful relationship. I stayed on that assignment for almost a year before duty called me back to my Master, & I left Decima. I was assigned to acompant Lord Arthgon, a Dark Jedi, to the planet Sharr. Don't bother looking for it, its in the Unknown Regions and not on any databases. Anyway, the Emperor had a cryonics facility there, & some clone tanks. I was frozen along with a squad of stormtroopers & 5 other Sovergn Protectors to await the Emperor;s re-emergence. I awoke 15 years ago to find that the planet was not entirely stable, & a earthquake had pretty much destroyed the facility. I was the only survivor. I searched the base & found enough parts to repair a Tie-R class reconnasance fighter, which had a hyperdrive, & the emperor's stash of artifacts, which included a Sith Holocron. I left the planet about a year after I awoke, & here I am now." I turned & looked at kerra. "Now you know more about me than anyone else. I found out when I rejoined the galaxy that Decima had been executed by the Hutts, & have been working my way through the slugs ever since. I have killed 6 so far, & do have a considerable price on my head, about 25,000,000 credits if I remember it right. Anyway, that is the short version of my history. Your history also, since my blood runs through your veins." I sit down on the bed next to her & look at my granddaughter. "So, what now?"

Orin sighed heavily. Mogo's thoughts were mirroring his own.

"No friend, I don't have a drop. But I tell you what, as soon as we set this ship down, we can find a place and I'll buy the first round. I sure as hell need something. Something damned strong too..."

Kelson nods politely, "Indeed, I am sure after such a long travel, you are tired. Come right this way, Raine has other matters to deal with it seems."

With that, Kelson turns smoothly and begins down the hallway without a sound but the rub of his robe against itself as it shifts.
