Everyone knows about the Burn The Bitch Mafia that infests the Loving Wives section. I have learned the value of deleting their inane comments on my stories. However; there is one critic who returns again and again and again to make the same comment. I keep deleting and reporting their posts, but this entity keeps returning.

Since 26thNC doesn't actually publish anything, his opinion is unworthy of respect. More importantly, he/she/it doesn't seem to have a life. I would be interested in knowing if other people are being subjected to the same harassment.

I know him (or her). Yes, he has commented on my stories, but he comments on many others too. I wouldn't call him a stalker per se; I don't think he's against any particular writer. He is a dedicated LW reader and commenter. I leave almost all comments in place on all my stories (assuming I even get any!). Neither do I ever report any posts. (I might if I got a threat of physical violence, but that have never happened.)

I don't care about what he does in the rest of his life. He's probably going to be on LW for a while to come, but I wouldn't worry about him "harassing" you. By the way, their are many people registered here who read dozens, even hundreds of stories, but never publish anything. They are here to read, not to write, and that is their choice.

Let's not baby with the bathwater here.

Understandably you are upset at someone who's clearly shown no interest in constructive criticism but there are plenty of "unpublished" accounts here doing yeomen's work in the comments and plenty of authors who have met the publishing bar who are terrifyingly unaware of good story or bad.

There are all manner of trolls here: commenter, AH, story posters, DMers, etc.

It isn't "fair" but some of us have resorted to alts for non-nefarious purposes to shield meaningful dramatic works from fallout in categories in which we wish to play but not suffer for those interactions.

Hoping you can find a workable solution that works enough to keep you writing no matter what nonsense comes down the pike.

I'd break the streak for you but I'm not in the habit of threatening fights against people (or objects) I can't win: like subway trains. ;)

It used to be that movie directors or sometimes actors would complain about bad reviews (from professional reviewers), but many ignored them. They wouldn't hear from the general public unless they got fan mail. Many of them were too busy to read it (Jodie Foster said that) while a few other attempted to respond back to it. (Joan Crawford claimed to have tried to write back to as many as she could).

Now with Amazon, IMDb.com, and other sites, almost anybody can comment on almost anything. That is the nature of putting something out for the public to see. The "public" is a wide-range of different kinds of people, and it's impossible to predict what reaction one will get.

Reading the comments is part of the fun of the loving wives category.

My wife and I crack the hell up laughing quite often.

We all know exactly the type of people these people are.:LOL::LOL:

Yes, they are The Burn the Bitch Mafia. "Every time I try to leave, they pull me back in."

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but "It's Chinatown, Jake." It's LW. There are a lot of commenters, and they comment on all of our stories, often unfavorably. 26thNC isn't stalking you, nor is HarryInVirginia, nor is Powersworder or any of the other folks that hate cuckold stories which are, almost without fail, what you write. They all comment on my stories, too, and if there's reconciliation in them, sometimes they get mad. And if there's cuckolding? They definitely do.

If your stories aren't cuckold ones, they're reconciliation stories that put the failure of the marriage and all bad effects afterwards directly on the husband's head. You write tons of stories that are about a wife getting knocked up by someone who is not their husband, often in an interracial affair where the race of the affair partner is front and center, and then the husband acquiescing to it. I get that it's your kink, and hey, you do you. But it's almost no one else's in LW; you're going to get low ratings and hateful comments. That's going to happen.

And, to go one further, pretending that "this person doesn't write" is somehow a barrier to effective criticism is absolutely ludicrous. Roger Ebert wrote one film that was absolutely awful. Siskel, I believe, wrote none. Some of the best literary critics in the world have never been published, or if they have, it's been for books about literary criticism or history.

And I'll go one further even than that: some of the best criticism on the story structure or my failure to include detail has come from some of those guys. I wouldn't want them as beta readers, because I know they'd try to sway me towards story choices I wouldn't want to make, but if you're willing to look past that, their criticism is often far more useful than the folks that tell me I do a nice job, even if I might prefer the latter.

That profile comments on most stories in LW (and some elsewhere.)

The very first story I ever posted on LitE was to LW (since those were the ones I usually read), and it was just a brief sex scene between a husband and wife for the 750-word challenge two years ago:

The 750 word stories are so much better than what we usually get in LW recently. This was a good loving wife story.
********

So, while MOST of 26thNC's comments are 1-bombing hate (against all of my happy swinger stories), I think this shows that person is merely adamant about believing in monogamy-only.

EDIT:
That's a discussion we've had recently in another thread here, that the LW haters are really in the camps: "monogamy-only/Burn-The-Bitch & cheaters" and "Let's have fun fucking anyone".

And it's my guess based on some other indicators, but there are authors here who have second (and probably more) profiles here, so they can comment and 1-bomb the stories of others, without attracting reciprocal 1-bombing. People who use such tactics would as likely use those other accounts to high-5 their own stories and leave glowing comments. That would account for some of the shitty writing I've seen which surprisingly sometimes has a red-H.

And BTW: For my sarcastic anti-troll story "A Gathering of Trolls" for the LW crowd, I received the following comment:

Not certain who you’re angry at here.

First of all, the guy actually puts his name to a comment, which is more than the huge percentage of LW commenters, so give him credit for that.

Second, I think a "diss" by Mr. 26th is actually a gold star, a shining symbol of quality, well earned. One of my stories took him four years (!) to find and trash, so I count that as a Croix de Guerre.

26thNC posts on every LW story, as does Sexecutioner and a few others I can't remember the names of, and it will be either very negative or insulting of the author - sometimes both - if the story is a cuckold one of any kind other than the guy getting harsh revenge on a cheating wife.

That is just who they are and what they do, personally I just ignore such things and move on with my life, makes things so much simpler than constantly worrying about what a few keyboard warriors think

Excellent Story!
Hilarious!!!!!!

Just so everyone understands, I'm not heartbroken about the written abuse. I'm certainly not concerned about physical safety. I just find it bizarre that a troll would be so dedicated to its avocation that it would keep posting repeatedly in retaliation for its posts being deleted.
I guess that people who live in mom's basement have nothing better to do with their time.

I'm a bit mad society (and tax dollars) kept Darwin from doing his works.
Sorry, you kind of lost me there. There is an Euphony Music Society at IIEST (The Indian Institute of Engineering, Science, and Technology) and another one at Gargi College in Delhi , India. I don't get the connection to Darwin, or I can't find it online.

When I watch a nature show about gazelles, I feel angry towards the evil hyena who wants to harm them. But when I watch a show about hyenas, I hope they catch the gazelle and don't starve.

We're in the jungle, a place that is both menacing and interesting. Every creature has its place in the jungle

If someone shows interest in you, take it as a compliment. Being ignored is even worse than receiving negative feedback.
Nice analogy, although there are no matters of life and death here, not even any money at stake. But I suppose I wish I did get more comments. They are often sparse here and on two other sites that specialize in erotic literature.

I have gotten a bit of constructive criticism from comments to stories, like maybe twice that I can remember. I've gotten more of it when I specifically asked for it on AH.

100% agree. All of us get these negative comments, (well except NTH….;) ) and some stories more than others. If you write something that is going to inflame the mob, then you need to expect screaming and pitchforks.

Does this mean you should stop writing these stories, no. If they are your passion then keep writing them. For every person that leaves a negative comment there are usualy two that enjoyed what an author wrote. We all have our style, and as NTH said above, our kinks. Use that and read between the negative comments to make your stories stronger, more enjoyable for you to read and write. Ignore the mob and if it worries you too much then turn off comments.

I also agree, You do You!

Hah, I wish. I just find most of them funny, to the point where I have some favorite negatives. Like this one on Kayfabe:

This reads like Joseph Goebbels wrote a propaganda piece on the virtues of cuckolding and being a cuckold. I am surprised it wasn't entitled "Hahnrei Macht Frei"!

All joking aside, we all get negative comments and I am sure you could look at the greaters authors in history and they would be ridiculed by the crowd here. Just don’t let it stop any of us from trying. You never know. You’re story could grab the interest of a publisher (I am sure they are here) and you could be the next Tom Clancy…

BTW, most of the time I also laugh at my negative comments, I really like it though when other readers tell them to shut up. That is good validation…

With almost 8 billion people on this planet, I have found that it takes all kinds ... in almost every aspect and variation of anything possible in human behavior. So, there is conceivably at least one who has no other life than to diss authors on Literotica.

Let him enjoy his life, too.

I post to LW to provide them some entertainment. Afterall, that's why we write!

Darwin Awards a.k.a. extinction of the lesser of the species is an old-ish popular website where stories of people offing themselves in odd ways and there's a vote for particularly foolish ways for someone to have died.

Last I remember was a guy who went "off trail" at a volcanic hot springs to soak or whatever nonsense he had heard rumor about.

He was essentially insta-boiled to death, his sister ran for help but they could only recover a single flip flop of the pair he was wearing when it was all said and done.

With regard to 26thNC and the comments in LW, I just noticed this following combination of two comments on my "A Gathering of Trolls" spoof (which I had advertised here in the Author's Hangout):
***********************************************
by Anonymous user on 10/14/2022

How disappointing. Here I thought this was going to be a story about the Authors Hangout.

by 26thNC on 10/19/2022

A zinger from an erudite anonymous.
*************************************************

Am I correct that these two comments suggest that 26thNC MIGHT be another author or lurker here in AH?
