Spacebar 3.0 >.<

After four days of torture, it looks like the flu bug that took me is finally going away albeit as noisily as possible.

Thanks to the folks who checked on me and the folks who kept this thread going in my absence.
Hey good to hear your feeling better Azu :)
takes a Coffee and waves Hi to Everyone :)

Good Morning Spacelings - hope you're all enjoying a wonderful little Monday.

Azul - glad to hear you're over the flu - the flu is rarely fun!

Waves Hi at the Dumpling drive through.

Maybe it is my personality, but it is hard for me to pass through evening an ordinary day without being struck by the wonder of it all. What sort of amazing things have you encountered today, sensual pleasures in all their glory.

I started the day with a gorgeous rain drenched sunrise. It was kinda of breathtaking.

Quiet evenings are always nice. I had a good and quiet Sunday evening - all I did was binge watch the last couple of episodes of West World.

Good afternoon everyone. It's damp and chilly outside here, pretty normal weather for this time of year. I have a stew slow cooking in a crockpot and Oreo's being pretty good company. She's still not a large cat but has grown enough that I'm either going to have to build or purchase a larger cat climbing condo play piece for her.

Good morning all.
*starts coffee*

Hard to believe that we are thirteen days into the final month of this year.
Anyone else wanna redo this year again or is it more of let's finish this thing off and open up 2017?

Comes and waves Hi back:)
if you need a change of Scenery come up north for a bit we got 1 1/2 Ft of Snow and the Windchill is -27 C this Morning

Good Morning Azu and all you Spacelings:)
like I said its damn Cold here even though we should be used to it, but it takes a while;) so does anyone feel like starting my Car and warm it up a bit ;)

Good morning Azul, Dumpling and all you beautiful Spacelings. It's a very nice winter day here in California. We have no snow :). It's about 50° and balmy. Since much of the country is locked in the grip with snow and cold - stay warm! i'll turn down the guest bed if anyone just wants to run south and west.

Oh, count me as one of the people who just wants to finish this year off. I've enjoyed it, but it was a challenging year, work-wise. I'll be glad to simply wrap it up and start anew.

Morning Spaceling's. It's a typical drizzling cold damp mid December day here. Once the gloomy part of winter sets in here it's a bit dispiriting. But there are the occasional sunny days to hope for so its just another thing.

Dumpling, I love cold and snow but what you've got there is what we see in a really bad winter here. The only difference being we probably get more pure ice storms here.

Paul, as always your part of Cali sounds great, I'm amused by all the unhappy folks who seem to believe the state's going to succeed and all be more wonderful. LOL, I know a lot of lifelong residents who finally left for more affordable places.

Azul, glad you feel better, I hope the upcoming year's one you can back off the part time work hours with. That level of extra working isn't always as good of a deal as it looks.

Todays a crockpot chili day. Who want's spicy and who want's mild?

Morning everyone...

<groans> there is no way in hell I ever want to live through this year over again or another like it. Too many big, huge, nasty, changes. Right now I am feeling so tired, old, stupid and alone. I can honestly say I know the shock people who go from homeless to a more "normal" life feel. 25 years of survival mode never prepared me for this. I'm floundering badly at this unpacking and starting over thing. Stuff as simple as putting clothes in the dresser the new landlady gave me... I've never ever had a dresser before... or trying to set up the kitchen and pantry when I'm just used to everything on a shelf. Plus I'm too short to reach the top cabinets and can't bend over well to get into the lower ones. I just feel so stupid.

You are far from stupid. Too short, you will adjust. Can't bend over, you adjust. You just have to adapt to your new surroundings.

 you got this.

Starry - I am among those who is going to say "you got this"! You've demonstrated a lot of strength and resilience in your life and those traits don't go away. As you settle into your new space remember, there is no outside model that tells you how you "must do it" - it's your space, do it how you will. Some years back I went through a severe injury (back in 2009) and recovery period. During the recovery period when my mobility was severely limited I started the process of purging my life of the excess stuff I carried (and stored and kept). It was a slow process - I'd take a box, put it on a wheeled chair, wheel it into the living room to my chair pushing it on my crutches, and then sit there and go through it, throwing the vast majority of it away using the "do I use it, does it have real monetary value, or do I love it" guidelines. I literally rebuilt my world as I was regaining my strength, both in the same way - slow and steady. I no longer have any dressers - clothing is either hung or simply stacked on a shelf. The only clothes I have left are clothes I routinely wear - if I don't wear it frequently, I get rid of it. My kitchen wares are cut down to the pots and pans I use regularly (hint, get a good dutch oven, those things replace about 10 other pots and pans) and enough service (plates, cups, etc.) to entertain a single guest. I stripped my world down and at this point in the journey I love it. Always remember - it's YOUR journey. Take it where YOU will.

Azul - cost of living is expensive here (we routinely make top 10 lists), but I always remind my friends that we live in a part of the world that millions of people come to for their dream vacations. We get up every day there. Take advantage of it because you're paying for it. I am flirting with retirement and when I do I plan on moving back to Nebraska, larger because of the cost of living there, but I will miss the weather LOL.

Good morning Spacelings!

A nice pot of coffee, favorite playlist on the stereo, Christmas decorations in place. Hope everyone has a great day going.

Morning Space Denizens. What's doing in your corners of the universe? It's coldish here but nothing like further north or out west so I'm good with it. Yesterdays pot of slow cooker chili was incredibly good last night, I've a tendency to make it with to thick of a base so that it's more like a meat stew, last nights turned out perfect. Yay me!

Here's hoping everyone's warm, safe and happy here, sometimes this can be a gloomy season for some of us if we let it. So the operative word is busy, if you keep busy you'll always be in better sprits and bounce back more quickly from momentary concerns. :)

mh nobody has been here yet today;)
Guess I am the first to stop in and wave Good Morning:)

Good morning Dumpling!

Good morning all the other Spacelings, where ever you are.

I hope everyone has a good Thursday. It's a rainy day here in California, but I like the long Pacific storms where it rains for days on end. I especially like it on the winter weekends because it provides me with the perfect excuse just to hang out and do next to nothing.

Thanks guys (((:)heart:)))) but I'm still feeling stupid and on vacation in a hotel. This is almost more stressful then the packing part.

I got rid of a bunch of dishes, pots and pans & like suggested am getting rid of more. I know I have my George Foreman somewhere packed but can't find it yet. The same with a few everyday tops I wear over the camisoles but can't find them. I finally found my socks after the last cold snap. I need to move some stuff to get more things sorted and cleared, then donated.

It's back to just me moving/ sorting stuff and my PT is over cutting me a break. She added 1 lb of weight to one exercise and it kicked my butt really hard in an ugly way today. I'll be so glad to look at a new year as a new start.

TGIF :) Wishing you "All" a wonderful and enjoyable Weekend
its suppose to be -30 C tomorrow, so Iam gonna stay in Bed as long as I can;)

Wow -22F is just a bit to cold for me but then I guess that's why all your buildings in Canada have thicker walls and such then in my hereabouts. I actually know people who go hiking and camping in the temps your writing about. Heck, I would to with the right outdoor gear in the snow, I bet its beautiful.

Cold. Brrrrr.

(Shivers in sympathy from the 50 degree comfort of California)

Hope all the Spacelings are having a good night, where ever they are and whatever they're doing!
