Nebraska isn't the most exciting place to write home about. The most exciting things I pass on my road trip are the odiferous or should I say reeking mass cattle farms. All the herons that congregate in the wet fields is an amazing site. One of Paypal Corporate HQ is in NE. The Great Platte River Road Archway, I think I stopped there once. That about sums it up for me.

Morning everyone! 
Long crazy morning here today. Have to drop a couple cases of water at the cemetery this morning.
Then run to Clearwater for the PT eval & haul butt over a 2nd bridge to Tampa for a meet up with the ortho team.
Probably a good thing my shoulder is acting weirder then normal since the 4 hours on the boat.
Sometimes I miss living on the road when I read about every ones trips. Then I remember walking into walls when the bathroom is in the wrong place to the night /hotel before. Or not being able to find certain food if I had a craving for something homemade.

I love life on the road. I've been doing in a long time and I would not of stayed with it if I didn't like it. I've been to some cool places and seen some cool things – and then I usually joke I've also been to New Jersey.
Nebraska is big flat and mostly empty. That's beautiful in its own right. In the Sandhills you have incredible migratory bird populations and abundance of wildlife of all shapes and sizes. Yesterday I saw Whitetail deer, mule deer, coyote, wild turkeys, grouse, ptarmigans, pheasants and of course cows and horses. All of them just hanging out.
But lol, there is not much there there if you're driving through. Thank heaven for XM radio.
Starry - I can always tell when I've been on the road to long, that's when you were a job and have no idea where you're at. You have to look for the motel stationary or the receipt to remember.
Tiamo - ah, the fragrant scent of cow poop. My dad used to always say "smells like money".

Morning all. Ah the fragrance of bovine biological waste. Yep. Organic fertilization on the hoof. Of course horse poop doesn't smell any better...different yes, better no. I've been around pig lots, chicken runs, rabbit hutches and fish farms. The people who do that kind of thing for a living are amazing. Some I've met have the most wicked senses of humor. But I digress.
Tiamo and Paul, Kansas is the flattest and most mind numbing cross country run I've done to date. I immediately knew when I'd crossed into Colorado, Wyoming was a lot like Colorado but both were beautiful drives.
I'm more of a ridge runner then a plains dweller so if there's no hills, valleys, greenery or water within my immediate areas I'm uncomfortable. I've walked a lot of miles up and down some really pretty mountains.

TN - yes, I much prefer hiking through hills or mountains. On the plains you can walk for hours and it's still the same!

Right in the shoulder with Toradol to help with the pain.
Another round of PT with the aim of breaking down the scar tissue in the torn bicep area.
I feel like I'm behind recovery wise, my Doc's fellow thinks I'm too hard on myself and I'm doing ok.
Haha, well I should clarify. I don't mean the sweet smelling dairy farms that my friends and neighbors lived on in my childhood. They actually smelled wholesome. As for the manure in nearby fields, well, that was almost tolerable.

(Mostly from the gases produced, but sometimes from knowing they have to live in it day in and day out.) That's one of the reasons I went vegetarian/vegan, but this was not a rant that came from my vegetarian tendencies. I'm no longer a health nut vegan anyway.
I couldn't imagine having just flat lands to walk/hike. I came from Wisconsin, with verdant forests and rolling hills and and pastoral fields and meandering creeks. Growing up there was aight. Then I moved to Minnesota, which seemed a more health-conscious state. Sooo many trails to pick from! It was a walker's delight! Then, the ultimate (for me anyway) in the lower 48, Colorado, with all the hiking trails, mountains, wildlife, yet close to civilization. With just the right weather (again, for me), never too cold, never too hot if I go to the mountains, never too humid, hardly any bugs... I never want to leave.

Btw, I'm going to be a bit busy this week. Tomorrow the next expansion of my game hits, and everybody's going to be busy leveling to 70 from 65. That's why I've been playing my old game again, I can never let myself get too far behind and I had to finish up some unfinished business.

Enjoy your gaming. Exceling to improve is good. The book sale project sounds like a fun endeavor.
I'm gearing up to make some of my own backpacking gear. I've already looked at prices for commercial products vs. materials and a bit of time. So I'll give making a backpack, hammock and tarp. Now to figure out how to use a sewing machine. LOL.
Sleeping bags and clothes are not going to be on my list of things to try to make though.

I always love book sales, though I end up bringing home more than I sell usually. When I was in grad school I worked at an independent bookstore. I joke that for two years I never made any money because whatever I made I spent with the employee discount.
Tiamo - it sure looks like your journey takes you right up that corridor!
TN learning to sew (both with and without a machine) is pretty straightforward - just hand/machine skills and practice! Good luck on the equipment. The huge advantage of bespoke systems for backpacking is you get exactly what you want. That can make a huge difference from subtle changes.
Tiamo - good luck with the expansion! Hope it's hours of fun with good friends.

just checking in, computer is acting strange....
Azul, I love traveling - have been for work since 2011. Sometimes I am in a place only a few months, some times 6 months to a year. November makes a year in Georgia - though I moved from south of Atlanta to north in August. Looks like I will be here for several more months.
I love to explore when not working.
