I'm one of those who would rather pay MUCH less for that gas that I can pump quicker than the attendants. For that matter I can also do my windshield much better than they do as well.
On adverage its 10 to 20 cents more per gal on the gas if you use a full service station, and that goes to the station owner not the attendant who does the work. I can't see a reason to pay even higher prices for the same product just so I can sit in the car while getting your tank filled.
Federal regulations make the stations keep up with their pumps and they are spot checked at least 2 or 3 times a year.
The only really good thing I can see about the full service stations is that those who are not physically able to pump for themselves can get fueled up without having to get someone else to drive their car to the station.
