I just love good chicken & dumplins.... do you make the dumplins from scratch or do you cheat and use biscuit dough?

Dumplings from biscuit dough? Sacrilege. My granny would be turning over in her grave if she heard that. That old lady never had anything but homemade biscuits in her whole life. She made her own butter, too. Yum. What I'd give. At least she taught me how to cook. Now if I only had the time.

My grandmother taught me to cook too. She always said I'd never catch a man on my looks. That was my sister's way and place. I needed to learn to cook if was to ever hope to 'find a man'.

I cook for my charge family all the time. I made chicken fried steak and gravy for dinner today and tomorrow I'm cooking up a picnic shoulder ham with all the trimmings.

(how's that set your tummy to hankerin, masta Geoff?)

I don't know about Geoff, but I'm getting hungry! I think I could be in Atlanta for a late dinner. ;)

so long as you can stay late enough to wash up the dishes I dont mind.

:)

I can be. it depends on who's distracting me while I'm cooking.

I'm hoping dinner will be ready by the time I get there, so there'd better not be a big mess!
...

OK I'll bring the mac and cheese and some yeast rolls with a gallon of sweet tea. What is everyone else bringing? lol

My first wife made them from biscuit dough.. or was it her mom.. anyway... the marriage didn't last long but not because of her cheating in the kitchen.

Homemade biscuits (and gravy?), chicken friend steak (and gravy?), hotdogs??? Plus Graceanne popping up and offering cookies here and there??? (I got one, finally, LOL.) How is a gal supposed to stay on a diet, ya'll? Allowed to proudly use that term as I am originally from Texas...

BTW, I make some mean greens, and when okra's in season, gumbo. :D

Edited to add: Welcome, LittleTease.
