son of the isolated blurts thread!

It is wonderful when they outgrow that. What a freaking racket! I love the locations that prohibit parents from taking a photo if they aren't making a purchase.

Now, now, we can't begrudge these empty-souled merchants the right to gouge people any way they can....it wouldn't be the Christmas season...sigh.

How many days until January 2 and this is over for another year?

Just changed a radio preset in my car due to F'ing Xmas music . . .

It is sad, a holiday I once enjoyed and looked forward to has been turned into fingernails on a chalkboard by the over commercialization. If Xmas were to never happen again, it would be too soon!

I like the season. I like when I notice people making eye contact and sharing a brief greeting. I enjoy that people bother to notice each other, to acknowledge total strangers. I love giving trees - and salvation army bells - and community dinners in the basements of churches. maybe it's just a small-town thing.. but I don't notice the focus on shopping so much. I think it's all rather pretty.

Flitting around the boards today, I saw a newbie who admitted the "92" in their handle was reflective of their year of birth. That's the year I got married.

Generally, I don't give much thought to aging, but it did give me pause to think I'm technically old enough to be the parent of someone who's of legal age to be posting here. Weird.

looks like another addition to the venerable "you know you've been on lit too long when..." thread... :D
