Ok guys.. most of you know that my oldest daughter is on a Fast Pitch softball tournament team.

And most of you know that at the end of last year I was voted to be one of the fundraising mothers. So.. we've had a garage sale.. numerous bake sales.. we sold buttons at the local festival. We have another garage sale planned for Feb 8th and a Prime Rib dinner on Feb 22nd. And we have been lucky enough for local business to offer very generous donations.

Ok.. so you are asking me why I'm posting about this, aren't you?

;)

We are about $2500 short of the $15,000.00 that we want/need for the season. We are able to provide the girls with new uniforms this year (badly needed) and most of the girls were sent to batting and or pitching clinics to help improve their skills. The rest of the money is used to pay for the tournament fees. And for food and lodging of the girls at away tournaments.

Ok.. again you are asking why I'm posting this here.

I need a few suggestions for fundraising.. something tried and almost a guarenteed to bring in big bucks.. quickly. Ofcourse it can't be something that will cost us money (atleast not a lot of money, most of the fundraising costs have come out of my pocket, so the team would benefit from all the incoming "profits")

OR

If everyone that comes here to Lit would send me a couple of bucks.. your loose change even. I could get the money without actually having to do a lot of work :D ;)

Carwash.

Find a convenience store or service station that will let you use their parking lot and water supply -- Charge $5/car and $10/truck or van or whatever the market will bear.)

Now is not a very good time in the NOrthwest for carwashes, but in a month or two, there will be lots of winter grime to get rid of and people will start thinking about getting their cars clean again.

Thank you RNAB and WH for your ideas.

I just got off the phone a few minutes ago from the local grocery store. They said between now and the end of March.. if we turn in receipts from people shopping at their store.. they will donate 1% of the total.

That should help a lot also.

How about bagging groceries at your local market. The kids bag the groceries and also help people out to their cars with them. For tips, of course!

It works at my grocery. There is a great big sign when you walk in explaining what they are trying to earn money for.

Its always nice to have someone load all the groceries into the trunk for ya! :)

Good Luck!

Good idea Estevie.. I'll look into it. Thanks :)

also *bump* for the night people..

Is it a school team or a private team and do you have a sponsor?

If its a private team you need to shop a sponsor....Ive done it before trying to fund a race team its hard but there's a possibility there.

You have seen the movie Risky Business?

"I deal in human fulfillment. 'My business is satisfying people's desires.' I grossed over $8,000 in one night." -Joel

Community team actually. We have several sponsors. But none are able to give anymore. We have tapped out our resources as far as sponsors.

CoolidgEffect-That would be a fine idea.. but these are 13 and 14 year old girls.

Perhaps a game between your team and some local celebrities....a radio station, or maybe a pro ball team thats off season......splitting a certain amount of the proceeds with a local charity as well?

Get the girls to go door to door asking for snow shoveling jobs and or lawn care...mowing etc.....Minor painting jobs?

I thought about a game between our girls and the local fire department or police department. I'll check into that tomorrow.

Hey...heres an idea.....get the cops to play the game and rob the local bank while the game is going on.......;)

Freaky!!!!

would it be possible to have a dance sponsered by or DJ'd by a local radio station? they could promote it and let people know the proceeds are for the team.

Good Luck!

Batter....tell me what that thingy is you are wearing and why and I may kick in fifty bucks for the team myself.

Thats a good idea by the way.
