So... Who does it better?

Two covers of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance. The first Haelstorm(oh, Lzzy Hale....) the second from

Sershen & Zaritskaya They're actually from the Ukraine and hopefully okay.

One thing about the second cover, the bass player is having the time of his life

And the in winner is...

An observation: after the blinds, which all of the kids did really good, the coaches really never gave them any song that showcased there abilities as the blind song did. I don't know if they were trying to expand the children's horizons with new material or what. Yet several of those kids were, in my opinion, better than the young lady that won. And then again, the choice was left up to the home audience to choose.

I like the song, but I've never quite figured out what A Whiter Shade of Pale is about. It seems that the narrator (male) is having a difficult conversation - a breakup ? -with his lover. I'm mostly guessing that.

I used to live a couple of miles north of the Capitol Theater and I was there several times, but never to see Zevon.

Yes, I think their name means exactly what you think it means. I think after forty years, they're still around.
While Marvin's original was great, I wasn't much impressed with the Slits version. For my money, the best ever cover of that is this:

Comshaw

The Slits were - well, the cover they did was actually better than their own material.

Viking turned out to be Morten Harket, the lead singer of A-ha. The judges on The Masked Singer UK were completely off-the-mark in trying to guess Viking's identity.

And here is an unplugged version by A-Ah on MTV in 2017...

Maybe you should have used his album version...

I've been trying to use live versions here if any are available. Sometimes the sound quality on those is not very good. Or there will be audio but no video to go along with it. So I make judgment calls on the various versions that may be available.

In this version, he goes all out with - how many back-up musicians? It's also over six minutes long.

Full band versus acoustic version of the same song. Justin Townes Earle was Steve Earle's son, and unfortunately, he passed away from an overdose in 2020. Anyway, I've lived substantial chunks of my life within walking distance of the Harlem River, so it caught my attention.

Bobby Womack versus himself. The first is the movie credits for which he wrote the song (1972). The cast includes the very underrated Paul Benjamin.

The second is the album version; somebody else created the visuals.

I know Broken Peach is dressed for Halloween, but what's with the nurses' uniforms? Is it some comment on Covid?
