When it gets cold and nasty outside what's your favorite thing to cook up for dinner?

Tonight I'm cooking up Turkey in gravy with mashed 3 cheese potatoes , buttered peas and biscuts.

Alot of times I'll make Chili but I was not in the mood for that tonight.

How about you?

Baked chicken in the oven, mac-n-cheese on the stove top. mabe a baked apple with cinamin for dessert.

Chili is good! *lol* Actually I have some homemade Chili in the freezer right now that just would need to thawed out and heated up but I was in the mood for Turkey! :)

Chowdah! Hot, creamy chowder served with fresh crusty bread.

Tonight I am making scrambled eggs with tomatos, zucchini, vidalia onion, maple ham and swiss cheese, with onion rye toast and a green salad...yum!

Spagetti with turkey sausage...

big tossed salad...

Homemade garlic bread...

cookies and coffee for desert...

:p

Chilli would be good but I'm makin' up some spaghetti with some nice sweet Italian sausage in the sauce... Maybe a little garlic bread and a salad. The sauce is simmering right now. :)

It's usually chili but since I made that last night I'm thinking it will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes, whatever veggie the kids want and if I feel like it I might bake a frozen pie for dessert.

Yep I think I'll have to try it now, sounds very good! :)

I'll share this recipe I came up with the other night that was really good!

One package precooked Chicken Fajita meat
One green bell pepper, sliced into strips
1/2 onion, sliced
Small can sliced black olives
Shreaded Pepper Jack cheese (about 1 1/2 cups)
Greek Salad peppers, sliced
Shreaded lettuce
Creamy Itialian Salad Dressing
Salt and Pepper to taste
1 to 2 teaspoons oil
French rolls

Saute' Chicken, onion and bell pepper in oil together until veggies are slighty softened. Split rolls, add amount of chicken mixture as desired. Top with cheese, olives, salad peppers, lettuce, salt and pepper and dressing. Slap it together and pig out!

Quick, easy and oh soooooo yummy!

I have a great "Tuna melt" recipe if you are intrested. It's different but very good! :)

Tonight's eat out night - well eat at the rodeo anyway - which means, sausage on a stick, chicken on a stick, fresh roasted corn, and whatever else we all decide to pig out on.

I'm leaving now to head to the Reliant Stadium and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - Martina McBryde in concert tonight - wish I could have gone last night to see George Strait.

I bet its great, but I'm making fuel not food. *grins*

I'm basically boiling some pasta, folding in some Tuna, and adding mustard for flavor...

= Uber Carb/Uber Protein and zero fat.
