Howdy again all.

I'm dialling in from little ol Australia. I'm on the western side of oz, in Perth. And its a beautiful place to live... but it is small comapred to other great cities of the world (our pop in the city/metro area would be only 2 million - at a a rough guess. Any other West Aussies want to confirm that?)
Not that being a small city is a bad thing. Traffic jams arent as bad. Pollution isn't as bad. Housing is more affordable...
Nighlife could be better in a bigger place, but i still love my good ol perth...

Born in Aden (was a british colony - became capital of South Yemen - now part of united Yemen -where USS Cole was attacked);

Lived briefly in Scotland - tho visited many times- (as recently as last week for mygrandfather's funeral- God rest his soul - 93 good long years!)

Lived in Tunbridge, Kent and near Redhill, Surrey - both in the south of England;

Moved to US as a wee lad - lived in New Jersey, massachusetts, Florida, Ohio, and now near Chicago, Illinois.

I'm a former resident of Seal Beach. I miss the waves so bad. I came to visit last summer and it reminded me how much I miss it. I had to take a ride on the ferry and the ferris wheel for old times sake. Unfortunately, my work is in DC though.

Ummmmm would it help LTGR if I told you it will be about 77 on the sand today, with a southwest swell of 3-4 ft; the morning fog is just burning off, and the boardwalk down below is filled with "bladers" joggers, and bicyclists? Don't worry, have lunch at the Occidental Grill in D.C.........

You're killin' me. We're getting up to the 50's and everyone is happy about that (except for those of us thinking of California). The biggest thing I dislike about the east is that for 6 months of the year the outside is 'uncomfortable'. I don't like running in the morning when it's 32 degrees. I've gained almost 10 lbs being back east (over several years anyway) cause I'm hesitant to go out and exercise in the rain, cold, snow, etc.
