"God damn it!" I swore, watching the battery life on my laptop computer rapidly dwindle. My dorm was clear on the other side of campus, and of course I had forgotten his charger. My next class was in twenty minutes, which wasn't enough time to run back and grab the charger. Worse yet, I had a paper due and was just putting the finishing touches on it. I quickly emailed himself a copy and shut the laptop.
Standing up from my table in the campus library, I gathered my things and looked around. Computer lab. I needed to print the paper there anyway, I just hoped there would be a computer available for me to use. I headed that way, bag over my shoulder; just as I was about to get there, I got a bit distracted by some random cheerleader cleavage. A group of them sitting at one of the tables, not really studying, and all of them wearing little tank tops and short shorts and--
Bam! I collided right into someone! I barely kept my bag on my shoulder, and managed to reach out and grab the person I'd run into to keep her from falling!
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry," I said, looking down at her. She was quite a bit shorter than my own six-foot frame, but very cute, in that nerdy, glasses and bangs kind of way. "Are you okay?" I asked her, bending over to help her pick up the books she had dropped in our collision. The cheerleaders were giggling at us, but I ignored them. I looked at her. She looked vaguely familiar, but then it came to me. "Katie, right? Don't you live in my dorm? MacInnis Hall?"
