I kind of like the lack of moderation on the PB and the GB. But I'd have no problem banning the shit Miles posts, it's just a waste of site data.1. Many other platforms are already moderating said content.
2. It's not "speech", per se; it's the equivalent of a bot / AI generating spam posts. The users who post from these sources consistently have no meaningful or intelligent commentary to add, other than hate speech or more propaganda.
3. It would be well within Literotica's current rules to moderate such content.
What do you think? And will the cries of "censorship!" from the propagandists give more credence to the idea?(Spoiler alert: yes.)
Banning isn't a good solution, even by IP adress, since you can just run a VPN. Several of our notorious banhammered members here already admit to doing just that.
Nope if you want to get rid of them, charge a fee. Contributors can be exempted, and visitors who just want the story side can come for free. But if you want to use the forums or chat...have a CC ready. We know that would work because most of the riff raff RWCJ's have no money....

An easy and available way is to make new members unable to see this board until they've been members for X months or have made X posts in other parts of the forum. Also available is Post Moderation where new member's posts are not displayed on the board until a Moderator reviews and approves them. Posts that fit the known style of disruptive members would not be approved. Those both would kill off most if not all of the BB-esque alts as they either could not see the board at all, or no one could see their posts.
BB could rack up enough post in one day in the Playground, and BB stores Alts for months prior to needing them.
CC and they are gone.

Putting the entire Politics Forum on ignore is one of the easiest things to do. Just ignore it and don't open it. There are a lot of forums here I just ignore altogether. Easy peasy.I just wish I could put the entire Politics Forum on ignore. My Lit experience would be far better if I didn’t keep letting myself get pulled into the bullshit.
ANYONE who SPAMS the PB with nonsense threads from nonsense sources and doesn’t actively participate in their own threads warrants banning.
I’ve seen too many serious and important topics relegated to obscurity due to bad actors (alts, etc) INTENTIONALLY spamming threads to knock those topics off the front page.

As you know, we each have the power to change the forum to our liking. A week or so ago I ignored several conspiracy nuts who spam this forum, and it changed dramatically for the better. The flood of lunatic threads and comments disappeared.
If all of the sane people put the conspiracy nuts on ignore, the nuts will eventually leave because the thing they want most is attention.

Assuming this is not a rhetorical question, rest assured we will always find something to laugh about in each and every Vetteman/RightGuide post.
He is teh gift that keeps on giving.
The problem with that is, NOVICE Independent / Undecided individuals interested in learning / forming opinions about current political event will be inundated with so much disinformation/ misinformation in the form of spammed right wing gaslighting threads, that they could very well be influenced by them if those threads went unchallenged / unmoderated.
It’s a tough call.
Do decent, intelligent people ignore the proliferation / propagation of disinformation/ misinformation and trust that easily impressionable minds that aren’t aware of right wing gaslighting techniques will be able to differentiate between truth and lies???

The effort is for those who might be on the fence about who to vote for because they aren’t aware of the political realities of fascist right wing policies and right wing lying and gaslighting. (Not everyone is significantly invested in politics.)
Left unchallenged, an uncommitted individual might believe the right wing lies and gaslighting.
It sucks, but someone has to call the right wing liars and gaslighters out for their lies and gaslighting.

On a related note … there have been numerous threads over in the Author Hangout forum about bad comments on stories and how to handle them.
Thank goodness authors can delete any comments on their stories. Some authors don’t allow comments at all. Others never delete anything. My policy is to delete weird and crazy comments. About 1 in 10 comments are wacko and get the ax.

This virtual reality is anonymous, so people who have trouble forming intimate relationships are more easily identified. Some of them honestly admit their issues wirh sexuality and reach out to others to discuss it. Others come here to substitute their aggression and resentment for meaningful discussion about the human need for intimacy.
I personally believe that posters who promote nothing but aggressive propaganda are just spammers and are no different from commercial advertisers. They should be banned. The ones who glorify violence are the worst.
But, I do not own this forum, and it is up to the conscience of Lit's owners to determine if their policies are helping to improve society or taking it down the shitter.
