Should users who post nothing but political propaganda from debunked sources be banned?

It’s a sign! This video was posted today.

Warning for viewers: the fictional story of a gigantic boat transporting two of every animal is the opening scene for this video and I would urge you to do as the video says - and ignore it, and the rest of the video completely.

Stop posting religious propaganda! How do you people not see the irony in this when the whole bloody topic is dedicated to stopping the mis and disinformation and propaganda?

Madness!

Regardless of your overreaction to the parable at the beginning, the point of the video is valid.

New location, same BS. Before the PB, I remember I'd look into the GB and see about a half dozen threads viewable - after having all the pic spam threads and the politics/current events/butthurt from the heavy hitter spammers (BB et al in all various incarnations). You'd have blurt, Wat's imitation blurt and maybe a few random threads. So yeah, up to a whole half dozen or so. Yay.

Well when I log into the PB, with the spammers on ignore it has more than six or so. Probably about a dozen and a half. When I hit the show ignore, there's no pic spam threads, just lots of butthurt spam from the usual peanut gallery.

Credit card is a pipe dream. The forum and site would clear out faster than fast, turn into a ghost town. I'm not putting my CC out there for Lit or any third party processors to post on a forum. Even having X number of posts isn't effective as 30 minutes on the Playground in a game thread can rack up hundreds of posts. The only practical solution is to have new members have their posts set for moderator approval. But then it's a censorship quagmire. Who gets through?

And lastly, as much as it might be a pain, who would you argue with? I notice that the spammers have many replies to their threads. Even I click the "show ignored posts" now and then to see the stupidity. And yes, occasionally post in those ignored threads. (Just did a moment ago.)

As optimistic, heh, as this sounds I think what we are seeing here is simply a reflection of the times.

"Optimism" is a state of mind I achieve when I am out of cellphone range.

And we have yet another thread of nattering nabobs flicking nits off of each other.

1. Many other platforms are already moderating said content.

2. It's not "speech", per se; it's the equivalent of a bot / AI generating spam posts. The users who post from these sources consistently have no meaningful or intelligent commentary to add, other than hate speech or more propaganda.

3. It would be well within Literotica's current rules to moderate such content.

What do you think? And will the cries of "censorship!" from the propagandists give more credence to the idea? 🤔 (Spoiler alert: yes.)
Yes, but with a caveat. If such falsehoods lead to potentially dangerous outcomes (for example, spreading misinformation about the vaccines and COVID in a serious, non-satirical, way) Or they are racist, divisive and inflammatory and either promote or condone violence, then I would say, ban them.

I would like to see the admins take a more hands-on approach to some of the content on here, and I've been saying that for years. For one thing, finding a better way to perma-ban certain users who keep getting around the bans by creating new accounts.

^I can name at least two or three members that do these things on a regular basis.

One of them is on his 84th screen name, the other on his seventh or eighth (he has at least four active acccounts on here) while the other is on his fourth or fifth. And therein, lies the real problem. I realize it's like playing "Whack-a-mole" but I really wish the admins would be more proactive about stamping out the repeat offenders and multi-screen-name trolls.
