I just got a letter in the mail from the San Diego County Fair that said they accepted this painting (Honor 2) in their art show. Woohoo!!! So if you happen to go, check it out!

Thanks for the welcome, Shingen. That thread has sadly passed away and gone to the great message board in the sky. But basically the Porno-Kunst movement is all about mixing erotic / pornographic materials with other "more respectable" aspects of popular culture (art, music, film, literature, journalism etc). It's our attempt to lift erotic expression out of the ghetto most people put it in 'cause we think erotic expression is just as important as other types of creative expression.

As long as you're creating interesting or unusual work that celebrates consenting, non-violent sex with human adults you can call yourself a Porno-Kunst artist. I think what I've seen of your work totally fits in with our ideals. I'm not sure mermaids would really class as "human adults" but yours is a real hottie with pretty boobs, so we'll let that pass.

I've just gone through the entire thing and I must say I'm impressed. I esp. liked "Spirit" and "Honor" and the black and white sketchs. I liked several others, and had the the windows open, but then realized that they were just thread numbers and didn't mean anything.

The deep amythest angel abstract, the girl in the dark tube dress, all wonderfully done.

Of course, you've heard that from everyone else, and I do hate being repeative.

I followed your link over from another post of yours and I am overwhelmed with awe and an envy that's hard to miss. What a a unique gift you have to combine vision, insight, and emotion into a form that is so beautiful. Each piece has a message and a world of possibilites to look into the human soul. Somehow you manage to choose the precise color needed for every effect. I can spend many hours wandering in those worlds, and come out refreshed, rather than tired from the journey.

What struck me most was your statement above, which brings the world back into perspective. I understand the need for monetary existence, but I'll venture to say it occasionally must be like watching an old friend leave. It's been a great discovery.

Shingen, I only have a few minutes each morning to sign on and check out things around LIT.... I clicked on your link today mainly because of the word ART. I am a self-taught Graphic Designer who realized late in life that creativity is her center. I decided to develop that and am currently back in school among many other things. LOL! A lot of the courses I am taking now are foundational, and I find that I am just craving to see the works of others all the time. (Funny, it was the Crave Thread where I saw your link.) Anyway, I am amazed and in awe of what I found and very embarrassed to say that I am JUST looking NOW! Your work is extremely beautiful. I do not have enough time now to go through the entire thread... but will be back later to finish! (I have bookmarked it . )

My favorite (up to page 10 anyway) has been the abstract angel series. I am anxious to see your other offerings.

Simply, fabulous.
