Shifters..Open..

Everything had gone according to the plan so far. Rimac stood next to an alter with a fair replica of an aincient Mayan priest robe. In his hand he held what appeared to be an obsidian knife, but in fact was made from several sticks and some plant dye. From a distance, it looked real enough.

Kara was braught before him and layed on the 'alter' Rimac started intoning several phrases from the old tongue, supposed to summon Quetecotl to witness the sacrifice. Of course, he never showed. He never did.

Everything was braught to a sudden climax as Rimac swiftly thrust down with the 'knife', hitting the splatterpacket that had been placed in the spot earlier, causing fake blood to flow

"Thus ends the sacrifice!"

Rimac's final dramatics almost made me burst into laughter. I watched Ian's face, gauging his reactions from the scent that surrounded him...terror, fear, awe and what was that?? Oh yes, piss.

I walked forward until I was only a few feet away from him, my snout open in a huge grin..maybe not the most cheerful grin ever seen but close enough. His eyes flew to my face, that terrifying mixture of fox and woman.

"If you have any doubts that we are real, remember this night. You may never know who we are or where we are...but we will always know you..by your scent."

His heart skipped a beat..once, twice...and then galloped ahead, thudding loudly. I watched him as his eyes rolled back in his head. He hit the ground with a solid thump. I glanced over at the dragon and Rimac, before bending over to hoist him over my shoulder.

"I am taking him back to camp and placing him back in his bed. I will be back shortly to help clean the area up."

Tai grinned, and nodded, then helped Kara up, and took her to the pool to clean up. He smiled, looking away as she washed up in the pool, and quickly disposed of the fake dress they had made. He was hoping this would make Ian smarten up, but he also was grinning ear to ear over the performance. It felt good to be acting again, even if it was intended to scare someone shitless.

I returned a few minutes later, still shaking my head over Ian's final performance. Once I had ensconced him in his bed, he began to shake and moan..mumbling some mess about scary fox women. It had been damned difficult no to leave him something to remember me by.

Once I returned to the clearing, I noted with a small smile that they were busy helping Kara get cleaned up. It seemed almost anticlimatic, after all the work Rimac and Tai had put into this little deception.

"Hey all, where do you need me to start?"

I was still kind of growly. With a shake, I allowed my body to completely resume it's human form. I didn't think paws would pick up much of anything!

Rimac grinned and waived as Taisa walked back into the clearing, shaking off her fox lady form. He was still wearing the mock-up priest garb, but had disposed of the false knife. Now all he was trying to do was shift the 'alter'

Kara was grinning ear to ear even as she warned them about what she had come out to tell them in the first place.. I will do my best to pretend dumb and play it off as him being durnk.. if he brings up the runes i can say he slipped on the stairs chacing me and passed out, and that i helped him back to his tent so he wasnt discovered by the others Finnished dressing she helped them clean up the area.

Tai nodded, then smiled, and handed her a briefcase. "Consider it a gift from someone who figures you could use it."

He turned away, then walked off into the forest, having left her with a briefcase full of money for a return trip.

Kara returned to her tent after helping the others clean everything up and made sure that she hid the brief case Tai had given her in with her belongings. She didnt think she would need the money to return here with but she didnt want to offend Tai by turning it down ether.

Leaving her tent she woke Keven up to let him know that Ian had been drinking and gotten scared by a panther in the runes, falling down the stairs, and that she helped him get back to his tent. Is he ok?

Kara smiled and nodded..Yea he is fine he will sleep it off.. i am a little tired tho its been a long night.. she said running a hand thru her hair. Keven gave her an odd look before replying. i know you were trying to save Ian some pride by not asking for help, but you should have come and got me and i would have helped you get him to his tent.

Kara laughed soflty and said thanks before returning to her own tent to get a few hours sleep before it was time to leave on the plane. Morning was going to come all too soon.

The next morning Ian didnt speak to her which was fine as far as Kara was concerned. Some of the others laughed as Ian told them about the nightmare he had... and said it must have been caused by my stupid theroy, the alcohal and the panther he had run from..

Connor stayed inconspicuous that day. He occasionally smiled and winked at Kara, but made sure to avoid Ian. The guy was enough of a bastard already, hung over and confused, he was going to be a hell of a lot worse.

Tasia

The next day, Tasia went to check the site, to make sure there was nothing left to lead Ian into figuring out that his nightmare had been staged. Rimac and the rest had done a good job of returning the area to it's previously untouched state and Tasia smiled to herself as she trotted toward the falls

The area was loud, falls tumbling and rumbling as if they were fighting to escape the confines placed upon them by gravity. I smiled slightly, remembering the previous night's fun. I had never seen a human male so fragile. The sadistic fox within me yipped gleefully as I stripped down in preperation for diving in. There was a secret behind the largest fall and I had to check it, to maintain it's safety.

A breath of air and then down beneath the booming surface, eyes wide open. There. A light, located to the left. Tasia swam downward and then in..into a narrow inlet which led upward into a hidden underground cavern. Here one could see the paintings and markings of hundreds of clan members..there a claw from the jaguar tribe, here a golden feather from the eagles'. Tasia pulled herself up into the cavern and then walked forward, her eyes adjusting quickly to the gloom.

There it was, a little mark which represented mortality, a human female. With a sigh, Tasia sank to her knees in front of the cavern wall. It was true then. What to do with this information? Head shake, no idea..not really. Maybe talk to the dragon..he would know.

Kara knew she had to head back with the others and couldnt take the chance of slipping off again to see Connor or the others for fear that Ian would be watcing her and follow. She had already made up her mind however to return as soon as she had the funds to do so. Connor she knew could slip away when they got back to the village she hoped.
