Thank you - my physics was just another subject that had to be studied up to age 15/16 before specialising in chosen subjects.

Yes, it's sad that there's no a/c taken of experience; I never went to university but thankfully I've had a full time job for 42 years - that's almost a record these days, I should think - and at the end of it I go by what my dear old Geography teacher used to say (and how true): WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS USE COMMON SENSE, IF ANY

Sorry - customer service skills? That's something that is acquired when people are ejected from charm school for being charmLESS, I think.

And please: no apology is sought or needed, thank you, (but if it makes you feel better, then go ahead);

~ Customer Service Skills comprise how the receptionist - the very front line of the office world and the first whom client/customer comes in contact with - and what type of an impression is given about her emloyer(s) or the company she works for.

~ Comprises how she answers the phone and her over-all degree of professionalism. I never went to "charm" school - but I did go to boarding school when we lived in India - and I also had a tutor. I think I liked the tutor more - but went to boarding school because I missed the closeness of my sister.

what are you referring to when you apeak of customer service skills being 'acquired'?

I'm afraid a lot of the youth don't know about manners, presentation, appearance or speechnor do they care; a lot of them can't speak properly.

Call centres, at least in the UK are understaffed - I tried to phone a utility yesterday " your call will be answered in 20 minutes" And the client has to pay for that? No way. I wrote instead! And when you do get through, the staff only operate from a script, so there's a bit of a game now: you upset them by asking questions that you're pretty damn sure AREN'T on the script.....

I only ever buy music online, simply because the shops are staffed by seli-illiterates who only know all about this week's Top 1; they chew gum in your face, talk to thier firends while serving, and as for the noise. I think there's a law about it, but you wouldn't think so.

Oh dear - now my turn to apolgise; there are some things that do get me heated.

Well mate - you covered about five of the things that set me off as well. And here the utility companies may have call-centres; but the operators do NOT operate from a script - and if one gets BAD/HORRID service - I interrupt the operator and tell them - quite soundly - to GET ME THEIR SUPERIOR!

By the time this occurs - it's too late to give me good customer service and I lodge a complaint. And as you did with me - NO apologies are necessary... honest. :)

~ *LoL* Although your word is probably nicer than mine - the man-child is STILL a pain in my ass and one I can so very gladly do without. I've lost count of the 'battles' we've had - or how many times he's interrupted me when I'm speaking. Even his now ex-g/f - whom I liked immensely - disliked the way he was with me - and called him on the carpet about it MANY times - yet he never quite got the hint. Strange, that.

~ And as for things being well? I totally lost my isp for last month and almost put new sky-lites in the kitchen ceiling as a result of the stress-filled phone calls with my internet ppl. *sigh*

~ I finally had to go to DSL thru my phone ppl - which almost didn't happen - because they weren't in my area (I was too far from the hub station I guess) and was going to have to go to wireless or cable as a result.

~ But I'm good now dear... and so far, so good. :)

perhaps you might add some (chopped or sliced) green and/or yellow peppers to give a variety of colour? No need to bother with the red as there are already the tomatoes, imho

~ Good morning Z! :)

Well - if I had had some, I probably would have. But this was a spur of the moment - throw-together type meal. The man-child of mine was due home in about 30 minutes after I got this started - and I wanted him to have a hearty meal. He's been putting in 10 - 12 hr work days lately... so it seems only right that he should have something that fills him at dinner time.

It worked! He cleaned up the remains - I have NO left overs :D - took his shower and crashed. Poor baby was wicked tired... he barely spoke seven words when he walked in the door. That's an indication he's bone-butt weary.

How are you today?

I'm fine, thank you. Seems like you've had a better day yourself, altho' I don't know all the background.

Saturday and Sunday look frantic for me, so am taking it easy, updating a travel blog, dog sitting and supervising builders. Taking it easy? Hmm - cancel that!

~ Updating a travel blog? Does that pertain to your upcoming road trip here in the US?

~ Got a bit of a 'frantic' weeksend coming up here myself. I have to put the finishing stuff on things for my garage/yard sale tomorrow and Sunday, today. So I don't look at today being an easy day... would that it were. :)

I refuse outright to de-clutter; I'm very much a squirrel at heart, and can often be found lurking on ebay

~ Do you have intended stops - or are you just going to ramble about? And then again - if I used my smarts (and the old bean) - I'd find your blog and read it for myself (if it's an open blog).

~ We are much the same, dear friend. I HATE to de-clutter also; but when there is a house-full of furniture and "things" - and then one tries to squeeze an apartment full into a two-car garage - *sighs heavily* - something has to go. There are two large items I'd like to put up on ebay - the only thing holding me back would be the 'shipping costs' of the items... unless the purchaser wants to cover that.

1) an electric organ - standard size

2) a 220/240v kiln

I may try and sell the kiln over the weeksend...
