Yes. If a testicle is discovered to be medically problematic it can be removed. As with mastectomies, there are fake nuts that can be implanted to maintain a normal appearance.

Not a girly guy, but testicle removal does not affect climax and ejaculation except to remove “live ammo” and lessen the amount of semen. It doesn’t affect erections.

The process isn’t painful, it’s just a few days of discomfort until the small incision heals. As to the reasons outside of medical, I can’t say.

In the case of transitioning, this allows for the hormones to react better. Had it to do over again, I would have had the removal at the beginning of therapy. It's not about sex, it's about sexuality. Healing time is short. Hormones do provide for small. perky breasts and a change in body fat, waist and hips. Body hair loss and more hair on the head, finer skin. Makes it easier to pass and I can wear Yoga pants now. Not for everyone but it is for me.
