Series stories not linking

In my Control Panel, my It Started as a Joke series in the series format, it shows up as a series. at the end of Chapters 3 & 4, the links to the next chapter appear, but at the end of chapters 1 & 2, no links. If I click on the Series Information link, it shows all 5 chapters.

Is there a fix? Do I need to reorder, then move back to force something, or delete the series page and start over?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I finally found another post on the same issue. I tried deleting the series and reposting. I'll see if it worked.

Something's glitched in the auto-series mechanism. Your story sequence should have joined together automatically, as soon as you published chapter two. Hopefully undoing the series again will work - except that series approvals can take a week or three - so be patient.

You should be able to add the chapter to a Series using the manual function. It's not super intuitive, and might take a couple of goes to figure out. The errant story must be published, and the Series established - there's an automatic process as well as the manual option - and you add the chapter to the Series. You can also change the sequence, if you're not using chapter numbers.

The other issue is, it goes off to a check process with the site before the new Series sequence gets published, and the site has been slow recently, so that could be part of the problem.

Is this a series you created manually in your Control Panel, or one you made by having multiple stories whose titles start with the same sequence (like, "Violet's Perfumed Garden Chapter 1", "Violet's Perfumed Garden Chapter 2")?

Looking at your Works page, your series look like they're the second kind, or could be. Are those two stories starting with "Teacher" meant to be a series? I think it broke because of your typo in the subject line, "Teacher anbd Prep Student Pt. 02".

Go to the Series (Beta) tab of your Author Control Panel. Click "+ New Story Series". Fill out the form and then click Create Series. The Series will have to be approved by the story moderator (who isn't the same as the Forum moderators). Then you can click the gear (cogwheel to Brits) next to the series name in your Series listing and Add Works to the series, and set the order.
