Help with Series, they don't show up as a series

I've created 4 different manual series, all closed and submitted, the "Publish" button is not enabled, only the "cancel" button is. It's been months, they seem fine but never seem to be added to a series (with title page, indented chapters, and "Next" and "Previous" links at the end of each chapter.

There are four series shown in your story list.

I'd undo the manual series function on all but the Zen one, and let the site's automatic series function do the work for you - your title sequence should be okay for that. The automatic chaptering function should pick it up and fix it. Would take at least 24 hours, probably.

The Zen series won't auto-sequence, because the titles are inconsistent. Try reporting the first chapter, and explain the problem.

I had a series that got published, but the widget at the end of the stories to link them together never appeared. Finally, I deleted the series, and just now (about half an hour ago) I created it again. We'll see if it works this time.

Remember, Series are still beta. Technically, we're helping @Manu test the feature.

I meant to come back to this. It worked. Deleting and recreating the series made it work correctly.

Thanks -- I should try that. I published a second series last week (only four very short parts, it just felt right as four 3k pieces). On the Author's Control Panel it shows up with the series icon. But the series does not appear anywhere else, either in the series index or as a series on my public list of works.

Follow up -- mine magically fixed itself sometime sin the last fifteen hours. Maybe there was a backlog of series updates or something stuck in a queue somewhere.

The Series interface is a "black box". Things you expect to work don't, and then they do. It's weird. I find myself clicking on things almost randomly until something happens.

I think (as an old IT guy) there are database delays in the process giving the impression that things aren't working when you expect them to. LitE's functions are spread over multiple databases, and sometimes the communications updating especially directory/listing functions apparently have unintended delays. I'm sure Manu is banging his forehead against the problems, which must be why the Series function is still considered "beta" after months (years?) of being live.
