I've had my series pending moderation for more than 2 months now (since July 9) without anything happening. Last week, I filed a feedback on it, and still nothing. Since then, the 7th chapter in the series has been approved and uploaded. This series has no art or anything that I can think of that might delay moderation. What can I do to get it approved so people reading one chapter are recommended the rest of the series and can easily navigate to the next (or previous) chapter?

You should have numbered them Ch. 01 Ch. 02 and so on. If you had done that, the auto-sequence algorithm would have worked properly and joined them together automatically.

I'd try creating another Manual Series, and start all over again. That will probably be quicker than trying to get the site to fix it.

So does that mean you cannot create a manual series unless the names of each story follow the pattern the automatic series uses?

I've read the Series FAQ several times looking to see why my two manual series have been Pending Moderation for several weeks. The FAQ "How to create a new series" does not state manual series need the story names with the format that works for automatic series.

I'm wondering if I've missed something.

No - if you follow the chapter naming protocol shown above, the site's auto-chaptering mechanics kick in and you don't need to do anything.

With the Manual Series build, you can use another over-arching Series Title, and cluster any story title under it.

If you look at my story list, for example, the Series entitled The Emma and Bobbie Stories has a number of quite different titles.

If you look at the The Dark Chronicle series, you'll see an example of auto-sequencing, where I've used the Series function to show that it's complete.

My guess is that the same issue that causes some stories not to appear in Laurel's dashboard causes some series submissions to do the same. My suggestion would be the same as it is for stories that fall into the memory hole. Edit it, and resubmit it. Once you reset your position in the queue, the odds of falling in the same hole twice in a row aren't that high. You'll have the normal wait again...

( Whatever that is. I don't think we have enough people creating a series and reporting how long it took to have any clue. My guess would be that they're processed about as often as submissions to edit stories, which we have enough reports to suggest is anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. )

...but it will probably go through on the second attempt.

I had a series request pending for a couple of months. Then I noticed I'd never actually clicked the button to submit it. When I did, it was sorted within a week.
