Series Duplication

Somehow, when I submitted the 16th chapter of Ascending Lauren, the site split chapters 1 thru 16 into two separate series, one with the title "Ascending Lauren", the other "Ascending Lauren Ch". I submitted a trouble ticket but never heard back.

When I posted chapter 17, it put that chapter into both splits. However, upon publishing chapter 18, it only appears in the "Ascending Lauren" series, which is the correct one. How do I delete the "Ascending Lauren Ch" series, and just leave the "Ascending Lauren" one?

Try fiddling about with the new Series feature on your control panel.

I had the same glitch for years, and was able to fix it by creating a new Series (with a new name), "deleting" the stories from the old misnamed series, and adding the chapters to the new Series name. Took a couple of goes to figure out how it all worked, but it worked out right in the end.

I have a similar issue. If you look here:

https://german.literotica.com/stories/memberpage.php?uid=6741516&page=submissions

you'll note, that every chapter I submitted to the first story series "Das Refugium" got autopmatically duiplicated into a second series "Das Refugium - Kapitel".

The new "Series" feature would, in theory, allow me to delete the superluous "Das Refugium - Kapitel" series, but I am a bit reluctant because I suspect it could be possible that, along with the series, all contained chapters might be deleted.

Can anyobody describe, what happens to the chapters, if the series is deleted? Are they deleted too? Can I safely delete them frm one series but keep them in another?

Thnx, Sunny.

Looks fixed...
for the innocent reader, the old series code was a fairly simple compare and was easily fooled by spelling errors, inconsistent capitalisation, inconsistent spaces (as well as nbsp). Getting it right requires some quite clever code and often authors were too clever for the code. I have come to dread the "this is a continuation of..." message for series stories with different titles. We have long been fromised a feature and it looks as if it's here: thanks Literotica. All i need now is to be able to sort author entries so I can read them in the order posted.

I have meanwhile pulled together all my faith and deleted the superfluous series, and all went well - it is gone, didn't come back, it's "sibling" remained untouched and the chapters were not influenced in any way.

The new code works much better than the old one, but still doesn't catch my intention and doesn't spliit at the "-". Unfortunately I began the series using this scheme last year, so I need to stick to it until the end. Then I will rename the whole thing.

Since I have a better unerstanding now, how the automatic series creation mechanism works, I will beable to pick a story name which works better together with the algorithm.

Thanks all for your help,

Sunny
