I did not get to see this thread for I was busy this whole weekend. My heart goes out to each & everyone who's life's were affected by 9/11.....I know it has touched us all, and that sadness will always remain in our hearts forever...I would like to share with you all, how 911 has changed me...In August of 2002, my oldest son went away to boot camp at the age of 19, this was his first time ever being away from home, how scared I was for him knowing what they put them through. Well after 4 months in December, we flew to Fort Leonard Wood to see him graduate. He graduated with many extra ribbons & medals....No more then two weeks after he came home,he got a phone call...I still remember the day, December, 19th. 2002. Asking him if he would volunteer, for they needed Military Police. A unit from MA was going to be deployed sometime in January, well he did volunteer, and on January 17, 2003.....We were seeing him off to war. No words can really explain my feelings that day. Watching & knowing all the fears, these young men and woman had. Yet at the same time how proud they all were, to serve their country......The Family's saying goodbye, not knowing if this were there last...My son was sent to Afghanistan, where he served 8 months...Those were the longest 8 months of my life...When he came home, I seen, how this scared young boy, had turned into this strong brave man....I was happy to have him home, and so proud of him, knowing that he has been through more in his young age, then most would in a lifetime. He was home with us 16 months, then again volunteered to join a unit that was already serving in Iraq...I can remember his words, telling me he wanted to go. For if he did not volunteer, they would pick others who were married and had young chilgren. He said "Ma they have a husband or wife and kids I have to go. Take me, not them.".. " I'll be ok Ma don't worry".....He left this past Mother's Day, and again I can not explain my feeling, I was being brave for him, yet I was falling apart inside. It has been 4 months now, and on this Sept 11, we had a bike run in Memory of 911, and to Honor all the troops, past & present ....during the event I got a call from my son in Iraq, as the band stopped playing right away, then over the microphone, so my son & his platoon could hear...They thanked his unit and told them TO KICK ASS.....hundreds of people stood up & clapped, yelled, they played a song so they could hear, it was a very special moment for me, with tears running down my face..So you see this is how 911 has changed my life,We will never forget,,,,,,,Here is a song and the words are so true!!!! I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn't worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it's too disturbing for you and me
It'll just breed anger that's what the experts say
If it was up to me I'd show it every day
Some say this country's just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I'd have to say that's right

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And we vowed to get the ones behind Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

I've been there with the soldiers
Who've gone away to war
And you can bet that they remember
Just what they're fighting for

CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Yes, some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don't you tell me not to worry 'bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?

Have you forgotten?
Have you forgotten?

Thank your son for me. Without men and women like him who knows what life would be like here.

Missing In Action, Prisoners Of War

Lord, I'm here to take a stand
For all those missing from our land
Missing in action, prisoners of war
Lord, bring them home to America once more.

When America needed them they were there
Lord, let us show them we care
It may not be an easy task
But let us bring them home at last.

Lord, put an end to all their turmoil
Bring back home to American soil
Missing in action, prisoners of war
Lord, bring them home to America once more.

I Hear Them Calling

I hear them calling in the night
When my world is calm and quiet.

They speak to me in words I would not hear
Yet their voices won't be silenced.

They beseech me with whispers
Asking, "Why were we left?"
They cannot understand.

The wind carries their questions.

The stars shine down as tears.

The moon becomes their faces.

And I have no answer worth speaking.
