Senior Moments

Prayers being lifted for you and your loved ones in this difficult time, and for peace and comfort for your aunt.

Haa haa good one.

I feel old, plus I'm dealing with elderly parents. Today's quote was "Yeah yeah I have a cellphone, I just never turn it on. People will call me then..."

This was after I lost my Dad at a farmer's market and I was driving him home...

LOL...sounds exactly like someone I know. It's either in the charger, and I've forgotten to take it along; or, it's dead in my purse.

Prayers lifted up my friend. Hugs.
:rose:

Thanks honey. Here is an update. They told her weeks if not days. But so far she is having good days. She is on a c-pap at night and full oxygen during the day. She can't walk much and has to be in a scooter if she has to walk far. Basically her lungs are at 11% and the machines are doing the breathing for her. So for the most part it's being glad for the good days and preparing for the worst when it comes. Thanks for the thoughts and he prayers.

That's so totally my Dad. He even got rid of the phone cause he never used the minutes either.

Now my friend Miss Vi who is 94 ALWAYS has her cell on her and charged.

Good days ROCK!! Treasure those and all that makes her happy.
Sending more prayers and Angels.

Dementia is not a laughing matter. My wife has had short term dementia for over ten years. She takes two meds and virgin coconut oil two spoons daily.
Our very oldest friends wife also had short term dementia over ten years. A few years ago Pat didn't even know her own grown sons yet remembered us and things we did 50 years ago.

Because of our own health problems and both using a walker our oldest son and his wife came to Florida and demanded we sell out and move back to Illinois immediately. Like in two days!
I'd planned ahead and already bought a small home at th edge of town Oct 2014 so we had someplace to go.
I worried that my wife would get lost in the house or outside. Today is a milestone for us. Exactly one year ago we moved back here. Both walk without a cane or walker. My wife figured out all of the light switches and hasn't gotten lost yet.
Sadly the best friend had become a vegetable and died a few months ago. My wife seems to actually remember more and if you've been alert, she plays on this board as much as I do.

What's the difference between my wife and Pat who took the same meds? I'm not a doctor but I'd bet virgin coconut oil has something to do with it. Mostly my wife will ask the same questions several times or forget where we just went. We have three grown kids who do the same things.

I have repeated much of this many times. But we proved you can go home again and life is better with friends and family than all of the gold in California.

Today I called my son and ask him if he can put up with us another year! This has been my senior moment.

Thank you for sharing all that. I know it is a struggle. My mom had all that as well... however we never did the virgin coconut oil. I know meds help some, but I believe sometimes they do more harm then good. I am glad that things have been good for you guys.

I kind of thought anyone coming to this thread would remember the Andy Griffith Show so when I saw this photo, thought I would share....maybe a tad cynical??
