My wife was wrapping presents last night. I just have to ask, what’s up with the clear wrapping paper. Doesn’t it defeat the purpose? Why not just put a bow on the box?

a tease

Just a hint of the treasure beneath? Similar to your woman wearing a sheer negligee.

Maybe there's something different inside the box. When I wrap things for my partner, I intentionally put things in weird boxes. I hope he appreciates the Blue's Clues box lol.

I know that there are people out there that keep ALL the wrapping that their gifts come in, even being so careful as to not rip any of it, and folding it very nicely, before they even see what their gift inside is. This baffles me personally, but then to each "his" own.

I personally can do without wrapping paper, why isn't just a gift box acceptble? Oh, because those companies that make the paper, need to make money just klike the card companies that invent these "holidays" so they can sell these bullshit cards huh?

Wrapping paper lends to the anticipation, greeting cards send a message in and of themselves. Not the same, even though I understand your feelings about the created holidays.

Happy Erotic Solstice Day;)

I make and sell gel candles, and we use the clear or transparent wrap to wrap up gift baskets we throw together. It keeps everything in them, makes them look nice, and people can still see what they are buying. I have never seen it used as actual gift wrap, unless it's a gift basket of some sorts, but have seen it used for things like fruit baskets, wrapping home made goodies, etc.

I can see the commercial application...

Of course, we have a toddler, so everything is transparent no matter how thick the wrap.

"Here daddy, open it, it's a book!"
