SCOTUS Reform

Like we were forced to take a look at the FBI which in the eyes of the average American has gone from the original, respected and anticipated crime drama to True Crime junk TV.

Bogart to Tarantino

You nailed it. FBI has turned themselves into a political police force and have to either be gutted and rebuilt into a professional organization all over again, or just closed down completely regardless of the side-effects. Ditto the DOJ. NSA and CIA have also turned political. Gut them. Dept of Education? Just terminate it.

In actual point of fact, we're going to have to. Spending is out of control, we're multiple trillions in debt and taxation is only bringing in half of what we send. Annually. Forget paying down what we borrowed, half the govt spending is running on borrowed money. Fed Govt spending needs to be sliced by 50% just to NOT borrow more. What do you cut? All the superfluous shit and the pork (anathema to politicians). THAT is where we need Vivek, doing the slash and burn to out of control spending.
Dept of Education - Kaput.
NGO boondoggles - Kaput.
FBI - Kaput.
90% of the IRS - go to a $50k cutoff before you pay income tax and have to file a return, 10% flat tax over that and - Kaput
State Dept - slash the useless fuckers - 90% Kaput
Illegals - Zero funding. Kaput. Except for deportations.
EV subsidies - Kaput

Etc etc etc

You guys crack me up with the constant austerity and cutting costs talk. You never wanna start with the elephant in the room which is defense spending. For example, I get why why need the army, an Air Force, and Navy but what the hell does the Marine Corps serve? Imagine the money we could save cutting that useless appendix? No more bases, weapons to them, housing costs and we could also save a ton giving them GI benefits as well as all the healthcare costs extended to them and their spouses! I don’t think I’m wrong here.

I like your list but the IRS thing isn't workable.

Someone can have millions in income and pay no taxes if that income is structured correctly so having the 50k cutoff doesn't work. I'd rather see a flat tax and a restructuring of the tax code to eliminate certain deductions and credits.

No more mortgage deduction for example. The idea behind this was to promote home ownership but it failed. All it resulted in was the higher cost of housing due to more available income to pay for it.

All tax credits need to be eliminated. Including the child care credit, the earned income credit and so on.

The offset for getting rid of these things is a lower tax table across the board which no one gets out of paying.

The Dept of Education doesn't need to be eliminated, it just needs to be reduced in size until it's small. Like miniscule. And it's only function is to set uniform educational standards through testing in certain core subjects like math, science, reading, etc. Outside of those areas, it shouldn't have any say or ability to determine what is or isn't "education." Those outside the core subject areas are within the province of the States and if a State wants to teach creationism, then that's its prerogative, BUT it must teach science as part of its core curriculum regardless.

I think every business/consumer subsidy needs to go away. Like just end them. Now. And if that means the product isn't affordable any longer, then business needs to work on ways to lower the cost or go out of business.

And so on...

The IRS? Yeah, wipe deductions across the board. Simplify the whole thing. Require e-filing for anyone with employees and structure it so any refunds are autimatically generated. Cut the manual work. Cut all the crap out for personal tax filing. But I still think an income cutoff is justified, Minimum wage owners pay a minimal % of overall income tax so why bother. Just go first $50k is tax free, you gotta file but no tax or something like that. Set a limit. And above that a flat tax.

Education? Nah. Don't leave anything inplace to be built up again from. Cut it. Completely. Standards? Heck, some of our States are bigger than most other countries. They can set their own standards. Core curriculum? Same thing. Get the Fed Govt out of EVERYTHING but the bare minimum functions.

And yeah, slash the defence boondoggles and pork too. We are way over-officered and over-generaled. Cut all the fat with a blowtorch. Eliminate all the shit. All we need is a military that can kill the fuck out of anything. DEI? Gone. Bullshit positions? Gone. Boeing Space Fuck-ups. Gone.

It's a looooong list. LOL. Just start with the premise that 50% of Fed Spending is being cut and go at it.

Nice summation of Project 2025. You parrot talking points extremely well.
Has AJ formally named you his successor to the chiefdom of his tribe?
Has "Dances With Falsehoods" bestowed an honorary tribal title on you?

I don't agree with eliminating the Dept of Ed. We already have states where bible thumping is a way of life and we shouldn't allow those states to cultivate that ideology to the exclusion of all other education.

The reverse is also true. And again, the states shouldn't be allowed to set standards which exclude legitimate educational goals and courses.

Why? Because it stratifies the nation and that's not good for the general welfare.

Consider this; your kid goes to school in state A. Because of a job change you move to state B. Under the idea of eliminating the Dept of Ed and uniform educational standards what happens is that State A teaches creationism to the exclusion of science/Darwin but State B teaches the opposite.

Your State A educated kid is immediately at a disadvantage in State B and will not be able to compete or catch up. Consequently he fails. This limits his future options to college and business.

Which is dumb all around no matter what your ideology is.

So what explains your gaps in knowledge that puts you behind the overwhelming majority of 5th graders?

Guessing just plain stubbornness. I’m betting on some head trauma as well.

I am not familiar enough with this board yet, but it seems to me: Not many people here are interested in actual FAIR + CORRECT arguments, which are based on facts.

Of course, “stacking” and UNstacking” SCOTUS has happened throughout history, since the number of SCOTUS justices has varied over time. And in the 1936-37 time frame, FDR’s mere THREAT to do this has driven positive results. JUst look at SCOTUS decisions handed down afterwards: they became much more reasonable.

BUT the far larger problem with this conversation is, IMHO, nobody on this thread has ever mentioned the ROOT CAUSE of all SCOTUS problems. Namely the BRAZEN pretentiousness, orchestrated in 1803, by one of the usual suspects, then Chief Justice John Marshall. Via the infamously horrendous decision he handed down in Marbury v Madison.

You see, Nowhere does the Constitution give ONE of the THREE branches of government, the power to subjugate the other TWO.

Had not everybody been ASLEEP at the wheel then, THAT particular version of the 1803 decision would have resulted in impeaching ALL SCOTUS justices at once. But it happened in 1803, when no internet existed, and apparently no reporters either who specialized on digging up dirt.

BTW, Law Professor Mark Tushnet, Georgetown University, has been arguing AGAINST this travesty of justice ever since 1999 at least. In his book “Taking the Constitution away from the Courts”

Does anyone care to comment on this?
That’s weird that you don’t feel familiar with the board. You’re not actually new here. Nice try, though.

This is all lies. You only have to read the Federalist Papers to know it's a lie.
