I dont' know what it is but I voated to stop it. Sounds like something what should oughto be stoped.
Scinerely,
DG
Ps. But what do I know?
Pps. Yes, that's really me.

OK, that's it!

If DurtGurl thinks it should be stopped, then I won't go near it with a five-meter-long pole!

I didn't vote, because I only skimmed through it, but it didn't seem too bad. I would say, if you want to write it, go ahead. There are a lot of stories out there that just plain suck, and the writers keep sending in more stuff. With that everywhere, and you at least writing something intelligibly that moves past "We fucked, the end," hey, write your ass off.
Just don't assume we'll all read it...

slade,

Everyone here is an author, for the most part. We have stuff up at Lit and other places. Everyone wants to know what people think of their writing. Most people who put up these clever little posts to get that feedback never have the common decency to think about anyone but themselves. They take the feedback and run.

Not to mention, few people who post "read my story and tell me what you think!" threads in the Author's Hangout do so without reading the forum very much. They skim titles and maybe click a thread or two. They consider this place a feedback or advertising opportunity and not a place where author's come to relax.

We get tired of it locally. There are two other forums for feedback. One of them is wide open. Of course, you don't get good feedback there because no one wants to give any--just get it. The other is rigidly controlled to keep the baby birds out. Baby birds demand to be fed, but they never give anything back.

Rudeness begets rudeness. You are just another author in a long line of authors who drop by for feedback. Will you do anything but ask for feedback? The odds are that you won't. You'll just leave until you have more stories for us to read.

Think of things from the other perspective, not just your own.

That said, there was no call for the cruelty some of the authors around here are showing to new people. Showing off for your buddies by beating on others is nothing short of bullying and it's vile. You should seriously be ashamed of yourselves.

Sorry? The replies above are just replying in kind, surely.

Last exit to Brooklyn

Look, I'm sorry I started this whole thing. I'm new to literotica and I'm new to interacting with others on the net. I'm obviously crossing etiquette lines, for which I apologize.
I would ask of killermuffin, or anyone else who knows how, to tell me how I can cancel these threads.
I would just rather post my stories and go about my business.

Sorry for the bother that I have caused.

g.

P.S. I won't be checking these threads anymore. If there is something that I can do to remove these, I'm at gspade66@yahoo.com.

The only etiquette lines I can see that were crossed here were not really being thick-skinned enough for this place. What was the problem with this thread? I'm at a loss.

Don't be so sensitive. Personally, I don't think we were so brutal. Equally personally, I have difficulty dealing in a level rational way with someone who appears to be offering to come in my mouth as some suitable reward for me reading their work. Even my friends don't offer to do that for me and I have only just realised how grateful I am that they don't.

Just say 'Hi!' and wave in a friendly way. Oh, and don't try to sell us stuff, 'cos we got our own stuff to sell (or not).

Hello thin-skinned person.

GL

PS. Some of us do not have exquisite intellects and when it comes to smelling, it is often not so much a sense as an ability, hence the roses. :rose: :rose:

PPS. I don't believe you will stop checking the threads. If I did, I wouldn't bother typing this ... or would I?

A new perspective

Dear GL,
Gosh, I never thought of it that way before. I never realized how nice most people are. Thank you for giving me a fresh perspective on things.

It is most true, MG. We think so much of people ignoring us, when in actuality they are resisting the urge to perform unspeakable (well, actually very describable, but lets resist the urge) acts upon our very persons. There is more real kindness out there than we might at first think, or imagine.

My philosophy on life ... well, one of them. A complete set may be purchased when I get around to compiling it, until then be grateful for all the non-events in your life which, if they occured might be construed as unpleasant or unlucky.

Sorry. I've just come back from the pub.

Eloquently

Dear GL,
Good grief! I was trying to be sarcastic. Must be losing my touch.

Sorry MG, mistook sarcasm for sensible comment. My mistake, but an easy one to make, you are so sensibly sarcastic. :p

You can't delete posts, glspade. The administrators have forbidden it because when you delete the first post, you delete the thread and people lose numbers in their post totals and have tantrums all over the place for days on end over it.

It's also a bad idea to edit original posts as well. Now people who click into this thread will wonder what it was that you said to tick the vicious mathgirl off. They will not know what it was that you actually said, particularly since some of us have possibly gotten into the habit of changing others posts when they quote them.

You removed proof that you weren't the asshole here. Now, all we have is mathgirl's word that you said, "And yes, I will come in your mouth." in your post. That makes you an asshole deserving of the slam.

If you feel that you were in error, the conservative thing to do is apologize for it and not go back to the thread. What's been posted cannot be unposted because people will always remember.
