San Antonio area Litizens check in, please

Hey all, hope everyone is having a great day...

Hey Blue

Hi Thump. Hope you're having a good day, too. Wish I could say I was. In less than 2 weeks' time I met a man, fell for him hard, and got dumped by him. Not bad for less than 2 weeks, huh. Oh, well....que cera, cera.

But I did get a job. I'm gonna be a bagger at one of the local stores. No need to mention the name...anyone who lives central and south Texas probably knows of which chain I speak. But, for now it is about the best I can do that will accommodate my wild schedule of playing Mom's Taxi to the kids. At least I'll be getting exercise, which I really need. Plus, it should help keep my mind off of my personal problems, of which I have many. lol

Take care, fellow San Antonioans...or whatever we call ourselves.

Wow, you have been busy. Sorry about the man problems, hope you are doing better now. So how do you like the new job? Are you up near your place?

Keiffers, Phoenix...a local (San Antonio) conservative talk show host refers to Austin as the San Francisco of Texas. I think that fits parts of that city pretty well! *grin*

it fits Austin well in the sense that it is by far the most liberal locale in the state ... although i am thankful that Hippie Hollow Park is clothing optional :p , couldn't see it staying that way anywhere else in the state except near Austin

pleasure to meet you ms. bluedaisy :rose:

in town for the weekend

Hi all, Happy Veteran's day. I am in town for the long weekend to play golf and see my GF. I drove in from Del Rio this morning. If any of you are golfers, give me a buzz and we can shoot a round.

Hi, Sara, hope you are well.

depends on who you talk to as to it being liberal or otherwise LOL there are literally all kinds here, especially when you get down near campus and across the river into south austin - they complain about every little thing in the world you can think of LOL

I'd love to go see Hippie Hollow; I've heard so much about it.

Nice to meet you, too!

Yep, there are two near where I live. I work at the larger of the two. I started today. Not bad. Only real problems I had were the stupid bags not wanting to open for me! lol

About the man problem....god but I miss him. My heart truly aches for him. Oh, well. Such is life, I suppose.

you might regret saying that after you've been there - that's where all the freaks tend to go - hey I'm all for expressing yourself, but there are some very very scary people out there - been more than once we've been at the county park that borders Hippie Hollow with friends that we've come across people in the woods above us either doing the deed

Hi, Sara, hope you are well.

Welcome to the SA thread, wild_turkey. Too bad you aren't talking about disc golf. If you were, I might take you up on it!

i've been there on several ocassions and it's a pretty harmless place - people tend to cluster among like people there with most singles or people alone hanging out by the front end, most hetero couples and social groups in the middle section, and most gay couples hanging out in the far end. i've never seen any "mionkey business" there and have found it to be a very soothing, relaxing, and comfortable environment to enjoy the sun and the water.

Wanna take me? lol

Bumps for Texas. Not SA but right up the road a "piece" in Austin. Used to live there a long time ago and make it down there every now and then.

Hello to all the lovely ladys.

There used to be a few places on Lake Travis that had at least some amount of nude bathers - like Marshall Ford and out at Perdernales park in the coves not to forget topless Barton Springs. Hippy Hollow was always a little to rocky for me. Austins IS a cool place to live.

I've never heard of Marshall Ford being a topless sunbathing spot - the only real place you'll find is Hippie Hollow for that sorta thing and the occasional one that goes to Windy Point, but those are usually few and far between. Barton Springs isn't much of a place to go for topless sunbathing since it's a 'family spot' although you go up 'on the other side of the hill' you might find a few :p

Guess I'm a little older than some on here. Just remembering the old haunts. There are still a few at Barton Springs and is still acceptable as far as I know but yes modesty requires you to use common sense when there are familys around. Hippy Hollow was mainy frequented by the gay community back when I used to go to the lake very much. I'm a little old now for anyone to want to see me naked......
