Well darlin, anyday you want it to be it can be hump thump for you :)

WOW... this was a tough one. i didn't want anyone on this forum to be privy to anything about me (especially since my first few posts annoyed a few Lit veterans). A word of advice from a n00b to THIS forum... never get hammered and post, especially if you're the talkative type... like me... obviously.

on the other hand, i really wanted to enthusiastically claim my local loyalty and hail my city so I figured what the hell.

BORN AND RAISED IN SAN ANTONIO! DAMN PROUD OF IT TOO!

I'd love to have an open, personal yet honest, and obviously civilized (this means NOT perverted) conversation with any of my fellow San Antonians. Hit me privately though... not really ready to put out my personal stuff for public perusal (this is because... I am of coarse... sober! HAHA!)

I'm always willing to hang out, talk for long periods of time about whatever, and pretty much knock off in general... so long as i don't work that day...

or the next!

Hmmm I suppose I should actually post here now that I live near San Antonio, then again you already know that don't you know Blue? ;)

heck anywhere within 100 miles of the SA city limits should be considering SA - give it another 25-50 yrs and SA and Austin will be suburbs of each other LOL

even though the two cities may eventually grow into one metropolis, i think they will always have distinct personalities that will never merge ... and to quote Martha Stewart, "It's a good thing." lol

Austin already has been overrun by people from the big city - driving habits PROVE this, so not too much that will be different about the cities

actually, i was referring to the fact that Austin generally has a very college-oriented party atmosphere and SA is more of a blue-collar family-oriented town with a small-town feel in spite of it's size - these characteristics will probably never change IMO

that college-oriented party atmosphere is generally more down by campus, so it's limited....I'll agree that SA Is more of a blue-collar family-oriented town, but south Austin is just like that....to me the only different things between SA and Austin are the size, otherwise we're the same

Welcome, Newbies. I'm Blue; I started this thread and seem to have abandoned it. Well, I come and go. I haven't been on Lit for almost a week. Guess I'm back for a while, now that my reason for being absent is no longer present in my life.

Dusty....glad to have you in our forum and out of the Austin one...but I'm sure you'll probably visit between the two.

Hey...we need to have another San Antonio LitTogether. It has been about 3 years since the one my soon-to-be-former husband and I hosted, then there was the one almost 2 years ago in Gruene.

Anyone want to help me plan one? If you are unfamiliar with a LitTogether, let me know and I'll try to explain it. No, it ISN'T an orgy. Of course, what folks do after they leave the party location is their business. But we want to be welcome to go to that restaurant/whatever again, so we try to be good.

Keiffers, Phoenix...a local (San Antonio) conservative talk show host refers to Austin as the San Francisco of Texas. I think that fits parts of that city pretty well! *grin*

I think that's not right - I've lived here most of my life and would never consider it anything close to that - if you want to call something the San Fran of Texas, goto Dallas or Houston LOL
