Just got the second survey from Microsoft to be an Xbox live beta tester!

I am this close to going online and kicking the world's ass in NFL and NHL games!

Good news.. Because I was bored as hell kicking my friends asses.

Anyone else have an Xbox and planning to go online later this year? I'd love to get a new line up of vict.. er.. friends to play NFL Fever.

The X-Box is a good system, but I think the controllers (that come with the system) really suck. Buttons are too small and way to close together, and that large "X" in the middle of the controller (which has no function at all as far as I know) makes the controller way to large for the average person's hand.

I remember when people thought the N64 controler was way too big and people ended up getting used to it. You have to play with the big controlers for a while to get used to them, but once you are used to them you don't notice the size at all. In fact a month after buying the Xbox I bought the smaller controller and games I was mastering with the big controller were suddenly alot tougher to play.

As am I! Sounds like it will be out for public sale during the holiday season which would give us maybe a month or two of beta testing time.. Not a whole lot really, but it's two months earlier than anyone else can get it.

I got the e-mail yesterday and ordered the XBL Kit today! I should have it in a matter of a week or two.

I don't know if I am looking forward to being able to trash talk people online or playing the exclusive online version of NFL Fever 2003

Street date for XBox Live is November, if you get it then be sure to drop me a line.

When Xbox Live goes online, will it charge by the month like an ISP and I can play the online games that I own? Or will it be a subscription per game title?

XBL looks to be a subscription fee per year. The initial cost for the subscription fee, the headset, setup DVD disk and a few games is 49.95 US, so I imagine it may be less the next year to renew the online subscription.

I am loving the fact that there is a chance in the future that downloads and extras can be made for games. Of course I'm thinking in terms of roster updates for sports games..
