Rush Limbaugh played a bunch of Jimmy Carter exerpts today

Been listening to Rush on the headphones when I'm at my desk at work recently. He's actually quite an insightful and thoughful commentator despite all the extreme demonization and belittlement constantly directed at him.

At any rate, though, he was playing a bunch of Jimmy Carter exerpts and comparing them to Obama's speech at the Convention yesterday. The thing that struck me though was what a nice man Carter seemed to be. Despite his kooky views and failed Presidency, I've never seen how someone could dislike the guy personally. He just seems like a basically nice, kind man. Very unusual in politics, and unheard of today.

Does anyone really hate former President Carter? If so, why?

i pass on rush like dominoes.

The thread question is about Carter, not Limbaugh. Limbaugh was bagging on Carter. I was 10 when Carter left office, but I always like him. Of course, I used to like Nixon too when I was a little kid. I thought he looked like a kind grandfather type.

i know

I voted for Carter because I was young and liberal. Got to give ol' Jimmy credit, he did a great thing for this country by being such an inept ass. The economy sucked and our foreign policy was a joke - the USSR invaded Afghanistan and the Shah fell in Iran when Carter turned his back on him.
Yeah, yeah, I know the Shah was a brutal asshole. Look at who replaced him.
If Carter was halfway competent he might have won a second term, what with the three networks and the NYT and other major papers cheering him on. If that were the case, there would have been no reason to replace him.
But Carter wasn't halfway competent, and Reagan started a quarter-century of economic growth that has been good for you and me and the U.S.A.

Carter sucked at his job as President. Rush is great at his job.
Carter seems to be a pretty good human being. The jury is still out on Rush.

So you've been a moron for over 30 years?

i remember driving back to school in the carter years and there wouldn't be another car on the road for miles and miles.

Renard would seem to be Rush's target demographic. Bitter aging white male, highly partisan, low intelligence, authoritarian-follower.

Whenever some dope says that we need a Washington outsider as president, I think of Carter.

Give it up, Rory.

Again, this thread is about Jimmy Carter but keep showing your closed minded ignorance.

BTW, I'm 41. That was "old" in the middle ages. Not so much today.

I think Carter has at least done some good things with his life since leaving the White House.

Amy Carter is one of the ugliest women alive. A triple bag job if there ever was one.
