Why ruin perfectly good rum by adding coke?

It covers the flavors. Seasonally I suggest hot buttered rum. About a tablespoon of brown sugar, nearly fill the glass/cup with boiling water, lob in a little butter, add a (liberal) shot of rum (ideally Captain Morgan, this is the epitome of when to use Captain Morgan, the spices were made for this drink) then sprinkle on a little nutmeg and you have nectar.

Good for what ails ya.

Ahh Do you know what the best rum to use for rum in coke is? Malibu Coconut rum. Gives the coke a very tropical flavor and Malibu is soooooooooooooo smooth.




While we are on the subject of drinks. One of my roommate's mining buddies was telling him about this drink called the Irish car bomb. You take a shot of Baileys Irish Creame and quickly pour it into a pint of Guinness. You have to quickly chug the drink because the Baileys and the Guinness will have these crazy reaction with eachother. Foam will just start shooting everywhere. Makes me wonder how could it can be for your stomach.


This got me thinking that we should make a Taliban truck bomb or something. I need to find some dark red mixed drink that is not a Bloody Mary. Then you take a whole or half shot of grain/everclear, depending on your courage, light the shot on fire and quickly pour it into the other drink. I would just like to see what happend. I think it would make an interesting party trick.

Are you daft?! First of all, if you want Coconut rum - Captian Morgan Parrot Bay has a stronger Coconut flavor to it. Second of all, Bacardi Select (also known as Bacardi Black) is *the best* rum you can have in your glass. Tasty, smooth, with a touch of spice - but not too much.
