I just throw mine out if they have something on them and can't be cleaned or are just old/ I might use some in the basement as junk rope.


Rope is such an art form and my work is hardly worthy of photo's but I go get the job done. I love rope, works anywhere at all and very effective.

I just stumbled upon this thread and am in awe. I'd never seriously thought about ropework as one of the top things on my fantasy list. I think I need to reevaluate. It's just so beautiful. ;)

Ropework can be a true work of art, of wonderful expression, of surrender, of sensation. Please do reevaluate and research. I expect you will find some photos that will take your breath away.

I've never retired rope, so I don't know. For the most part, good quality rope that is well cared for should last a damned long time. That said, there comes a time when a particular piece is no longer one I would use for suspension work, and it gets tossed in the floorwork bag.

Or, and this is more commonly what I do, and why I don't really retire ropes, is that I will use the piece in a scene where the plan from the outset is to cut the ropes off the bottom in a dramatic fashion. I still remember the first time I did this. She was absolutely stunned by it, as it was completely unexpected, and the sex that followed was mind-blowing.

So. I stumbled upon this thread. Thought I might contribute a photo. I'm actually not the biggest fan of rope bondage, there's something that doesn't click for me in my brain...but I have friends who are studying rope extensively. Every once in a while they'll ask me to be a rope bunny for them. I may not have the same appreciation for it, I'm trying to understand it but maybe it's just not my thing...anyway. I can't deny that I've had some wonderful experiences, though, with some great shots to remember them by.
