Mass. Governor Jane Swift just downloaded a child – so maybe we should cut her some slack. After all, some women in her position drown their children. All she wants to do is dumb them down.
Governor Swift’s state has something called the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System exam. That’s the MCAS test. It seems that there are quite a few Mass. Children who just can’t seem to pass the test. I’m not surprised – one would expect this from children of parents who would continually send a cretin like Ted Kennedy to the US Senate.
So --- what is Governor Swift’s idea? She wants to give $1000 of taxpayer funds to the parents of students who just can’t pass this test. The idea is that they will use that money for tutors and whatnot to help their kids get passing grades. Hey, isn’t that what the schools are supposed to do? She wants to pay the parents to do what the schools are supposed to be doing?
Now, let’s think about this. If a student just fails the MCAS test time after time it is more likely than not that you are going to find some “don’t give a damn” parents. And these parents are going to put that $1000 to good use? Maybe so – use it to buy to get boozed up so that they can forget how stupid their kids are.
But, hell. It’s only taxpayer money.
One possible solution? Take the money away from the school that isn’t doing its job if you want to give it to the dunce’s parents.
