Responding to AmPics Posts

I've been posting pictures in pic threads for about 18 months now, and in the past, I've tried to post responses to everyone who has taken the time to post on my thread. However, time just doesn't always allow for it lately, and I often feel bad.

On AmPics, I see people who selectively respond to individual posts, people who rarely respond to anyone, and people who respond to every single post.

Here's my question: If a pic-poster doesn't respond to your post on his/her thread, do you continue to post? Are you offended? Do you continue to lurk, and just not post again, figuring why bother if there's no interaction with the OP? Do you just continue on your merry way and post when you see something you like?

It depends on how the person runs their am PC thread. If the just do a blanket thank you every once in a while, then I don't expect a personal response. I'm okay with that.

If they cherry pick and do not respond to my posts then I will move on figuring they don't want me posting in their thread.

Sometimes it is easy to miss someone's post because of page changes. Especially the last post on a page is often over looked. So if my post was at the bottom or near there and it was over looked I chalk it up to an accident. If my post is immediately in front of the OPs most recent post, again easy to miss because of timing of their editing.

If they cherry pick and respond to other poster immediately before and after my posts… well that is a sign to move on.

Just my thoughts.

I'd say find the rhythm that works best for you - no response, mass thanks, or individual thanks (or whatever mix you like). Personally, I have no expectation of response on the thread, but appreciate them when they appear.

Sam - maybe you could recruit a response secretary (which a screen name like "OnBehalfOfSam"). LOL - kind of like having your admin respond to your correspondence at work.

I also sure appreciate every person who posts their pics - even if I don't say so.

It is nice to get a response to a compliment, even if it is just a smiley face. There are girls like Stackeydreams and Icy1 who reply to numerous fans individually but there is no obligation on their part. Many of our Litgirls spend a lot of time and effort on our behalf. They shouldn't feel that they need to spend more time responding to every fan. But it still feels good when they do! Just my opinion.
