a beautiful black kitty yesterday. He is already just my baby.

Two weeks ago my first rescue died of old age in my arms.

Black cats are so intelligent and social and loving.

Give them a chance to change your life.

I love my black cat. He's a Norwegian forest cat and he's super smart. I craft the most evil puzzle toys I can think of and he solves them within the hour. Also, sorry about your first rescue.

I think everyone should have some sort of furry friend to keep them company.
I'm allergic to cats, but wish I could have one.
My dog is a decent substitute, but no nearly as smart as I've heard cats are.

I'll have to google that breed, never heard of it.

My big boy, over 15 lbs., was part burmese. He had the white down under his coat. When I found him he was so emaciated that he wouldn't have lasted another day. Down to less than 7 lbs. He was such an ass and a joy.

He had a wonderfully pampered life here. So many don't.

I am actually allergic too, but if you space out your exposure and use allergy medicine, you can build a tolerance for it. And it's impossible to compare cats and dogs. My tabby is absolutely stupid and insane, my black lab figured out how to open doors and let herself out to go pee and come back in. I never caught her doing it so I never knew how she did it...

Dogs and cats learn our language.

We have never learned theirs.

They only just recently became less obscure. They're huge ass cats too. He's 7 months old and he weighs 12 pounds. He was the runt of the litter and I thought he was going to die, so I spent ludicrous money preparing to hand feed him.

I get this.

My shepherd is way smart in certain ways.

The other black cat, a feral female, comes off like a ditzball yet is sharp as a tack.

My sister has a ragdoll rescue and my brother spends huge bucks on purebred Maine Coons. The ragdoll is by far the best and biggest.

I do prefer big male cats. It's the personality.

When we take in an animal we must be prepared to spend some money. I wouldn't break the bank but I will kick out reasonably.

The funny thing is that his big brother, the largest of the litter who a bully, took pity on him and shared when they were feeding.

You've seen love in the animal kingdom.

Many don't think it exists.

I've seen it too.

I love my black cat. He's the favorite in this household. He has a total male cat personality.

Just took home an unwanted 7 month old black cat.

Damn thing is the most irritating cat I've ever had.

But he'll settle down (hopefully)

The boyfriend is allergic, so it's lucky he doesn't stay over mine much.

Do him a favor and give him back.

Cheers! I'm considering getting a cat. I never liked them when I was younger, but my opinion has changed lately.

Certain ignored asswipe posters need to find their attention elsewhere.

Many people are just not the right fit for fostering or rescuing animals of any kind.

One need only keep looking in the looking glass to see what kind of person one is.

Do him a favor and give him back.

Why would that be doing him a favour?

The woman who gave him up couldn't handle him because he truly is very annoying.

At least I'm willing to fondly accept his little ways.

He just needs some security and affection is all.

Just because I want to give him a good home, doesn't mean I can't call him a damn irritating cat.

Maybe you need to be less quick to judge people.

I ate one dog, one time, and everyone calls me "unfit". Do none of you believe in redemption?

You judged him.

You don't deserve him.

Let him go.

Got a chance to check out the breed.

Beautiful!

I've never met a Norwegian cat, I wonder of there are some around here.

All the cats that live in my house are rescues, the black one is by far the smartest, she's very aloof and picky but she is often found asleep on my legs in the morning. I have an orange tabby that I rescued from being returned to the Humane Society because he "talked too much" for my then boyfriend's roommate. I knew they'd just gas him, you return a cat to the HS and they rarely survive. He's a wonderful, albeit rather dumb, cat. Pure love, pure sweetness but makes some very interesting decisions.

I also have a big grey tomcat who is 13 years old, rescued from the woods when he was on death's door. We nursed him back to health and he's a big baby. The actual baby is a calico that was standing in the middle of a busy road, just not moving.
