Rescued

He stomps when he walks on non carpeted floors, doesn't he?

Big, large, and coming to kick ass.

He does! He makes his presence known when he enters a room. Like 'I'm here, look, but don't touch...unless I say it's okay'. He also makes this odd noise that my only other male made. It's kind of like a snort. Blowing air out his nose, when he's not satisfied. He's my 4 yr old rescue. Probably the prettiest cat I've ever had, besides a Russian Blue I had years ago.

Then I have a 27 toed tabby...great shrewer!!

And had to put my 18 yr old tabby down 2 weeks ago. :( Found her abandoned in a tree hole at 6 weeks old. My dog had pups and let her nurse too.

I lost my big guy, my boy Blue, on the 17th of September.

He went into geriatric decline on Labor Day. His big heart just gave out.

I feel your pain. Remembering that so many others die horribly cruel and needless deaths is small comfort sometimes. :rose:

I've never met a Norwegian cat, I wonder of there are some around here.

All the cats that live in my house are rescues, the black one is by far the smartest, she's very aloof and picky but she is often found asleep on my legs in the morning. I have an orange tabby that I rescued from being returned to the Humane Society because he "talked too much" for my then boyfriend's roommate. I knew they'd just gas him, you return a cat to the HS and they rarely survive. He's a wonderful, albeit rather dumb, cat. Pure love, pure sweetness but makes some very interesting decisions.

I also have a big grey tomcat who is 13 years old, rescued from the woods when he was on death's door. We nursed him back to health and he's a big baby. The actual baby is a calico that was standing in the middle of a busy road, just not moving.

My black female is very aloof also. Like I said, comes off ditzy but will rip a face off if necessary. Smart and sweet and deadly. A good woman.

The talkers are wonderful. Your talker sounds like a savant.

I may just break my 2 cat rule for a beautiful boy I saw last week at the Humane Society. About 2 yrs. old, 14 lbs., orange stripe with a white chest. I sat next to him and said "hi" he said "hi" back. Someone left him locked in an empty apartment with no food or water. They won't keep him long, I know. He has the Norwegian Forest Cat look.

I just want to add my thanks to all of the animal rescuers out there and in this thread.

It's so sad for me to drive the back roads around here and count several dog/puppy and cat/kitten carcasses on any given day.

Spay and neuter.

Please!

CadburyCat is a rescued part-feral.
She doesn't make any noise except an occasional 'chirp'. I've never heard her meow like a normal cat.
She's quite butch, but incredibly agile.... she'll go out to the very thinnest branches of a tree and then jump from there to the next tree.
And she adores going for drives in the car. She sits up, paws on sill, and watches the world go past.
Also, she swims. A lot. Often we'll see her down in the house dam, and if you're having a bath and don't fully close the bathroom door, you better be prepared to have a cat join you!

The chirp, yes, mine does this too. Also, at 7, she recently gives a high pitched yet crackling cry to get my attention.

My boy Blue loved water. Always getting in the shower with me or the wet tub after just to roll around and then lick himself clean.

Everything cliche about cats can be de bunked by any serious cat lover.

Long live CadburyCat.

Awww.... Yes, thankyou. When we picked up her remains from the vet with a little clay print of her paw, we all boohooed all over again.

My daughter says our next addition that she wants a Siamese...to match her eyes. As if cats are accessories! I've had 4 Siamese and they've all been big talkers.

Thankfully, I don't live in Cali anymore and have to fight a flea problem.

Here's for you Wings:

Are you a cat huffer also?

Cat huffing: verb; letting cat outside on a cold clear night so their fur puffs up and absorbs all that coldness. Letting them back in after appropriate time and immediately picking cat up and sticking your nose in their fur and inhaling all that fresh air goodness.

:D
