I've gotten a few here and there with random topics.
Probably 60-80% of the requests I place here go unanswered.
I did get one reply to my most recent request, though.
It was amusing.
It's fun when people interpret things differently, although I rather expected it.
Still enjoyed a couple back and forths.

I've never had problems contributing to the conversation.
For me, it's usually the other person who disappears first.
I could be boring, or maybe they didn't have intentions of talking much.

Basically, women are bombarded with PMs. Even when they're politely approached, the MO is usually the same -- they want the woman to do all the talking in order to get off. Most guys who PM really aren't interested in the person they're talking to, just their dirty thoughts. Don't be offended if she says, "no." You aren't the first guy to ask.

It's not that women don't like talking dirty; they just don't want to do all the talking or talking dirty with random strangers.

I definitely try to strike up a conversation; it's more fun if it's two way.

Sorry you have had that experience. I've been able to strike up plenty of conversations and then private messages that led to good online friendships. Not all guys are looking for pictures or to blow their loads. After all there are plenty of sites like pornhub.com for that.

Don't be sorry. You did nothing wrong. :)

To a lot of guys of these guys, places like Literotica are feeding grounds for guys like that because the men don't outnumber the women. A client of a client who runs an adult dating website told me that men outnumbered women three to one on his site. I believe there are about 100 men for every one woman on the Craigslist dating sites.

I know that not all men looking to PM are just looking for nude pics or to blow their loads ... maybe about 10%. The difference between the HNGs (horny Net geeks) and guys like you is that you're about conversations.
 
I would love to get a PM about someone's favorite meal, having just had an amazing meal out, I would love to hear about other amazing meals.
