Remember when.....

Remember when you cashed your paycheck, and then blasted the most of it on clothes for yourself, shoes for yourself and make up, keeping enough for a good weekend and your rent, and lived on pasta and crackers and water for the rest of the week, because you could???? Oh God be with the days!!:(

Remember when parents took an active interest in their children's entertainment?

... when people didn't care half as much what brand of clothes you wore, as long as it wasn't torn up.

.. when hip-hop and R&B music were considered music of the suburbs and very risky.

... when Leisure Suit Larry was a banned game because of it's 'vulgar' description of erotica.

Remember when anything remotely interesting was banned??? That of course, made it twice as exciting!!

Here "The Life of Brian" by Monty Python was banned for years, and almost everyone knew it verbatim!

when news used to be reported intelligently? And they didn't feel the need to give every single opinion the same weight? That they were comfortable with the idea that the opinion of thousands of experts outweighs a hadnful of experts? Or that an overwhelming trend is not undermined by a one-off?

Remember when~

The best meal in the world was Campbell's tomato soup and a grilled cheese with ice cold milk?

flip flops were something ONLY worn at the beach?

it was cool to have rips fixed with safety pins?

you could eat whatever you wanted and NOT gain 20 pounds?

the original Final Fantasy came out?

playing D&D with your friends and arguing about who was going to be the DM?

"He's not the Messiah...he's a very naughty boy!"

*shakes head* and people wonder why the only movie they made that I really liked was Holy Grail.

and take down those bastards over at The People's Front Of Judea

My meds made it worse, actually. For years I was on medication that had a side effect of "Weight gain"...almost died due to heart trouble because of an extra 100 pounds of fat. They took me off of it, and within a month I'd dropped about 70 pounds as my metabolism went back to what it used to be (and maybe overshot)

well it's a damn good thing you got off that med. 100 lbs of weight gain from a med is pretty extreme.

Yeah. I wasn't happy to find that I had nearly a third of my weight being the result of medication. But now I have trouble because I can't build muscle mass.

Well, at least you were able to take it off.

Yeah. Now if only I could reverse the effects and slow my metabolism enough to be able to strength my cardio system and muscle structure.

Remember when Flat Tops with symbols, words, or artwork shaved in the sides was the in thing?

Barring any weird physiological abnormality you can do this with a change of diet.
