Registered posters only?

I'm sure this has probably been covered at some point in the past....but to be honest, I'm too lazy to do a search.

Laurel...or whomever the powers that be....

Wouldn't it erase a lot of the heartaches and foolishness if only registered members could post on the boards?

I'm just wondering if this had been considered at some point...and if so, what were the reasons against instituting it?

Um they have this huge freedom of speech thang that pervades all of the land of Lit.

Besides,if they banned unreg's then we'd have more highschooljock and daterape posters.

I would imagine it's to protect those who would like to ask questions, give opinions, that don't want to be associated with their regular user nicks. That, or they don't want to register.

I guess it's a question of weighing the pro's and con's of letting users post unregistered.

To me, it's sort of like a priveledge, some will use it and others abuse it.

Sometimes it's not a bad thing, I remember there was a rape thread that aided in a lot of healing. It was created by an unregistered who was afraid to associate the post with their name.
