I've written a letter to the editor for a paper and it got printed - I was giddy. I also wrote a letter to the editor of a magazine and it too got printed and again I was giddy. I saved both and still have them in mint condition. lol

I wrote an article and a story for a extinct sword and sorcery magazine, I received $50 for it. My then needy, greedy, whiny, bitchy girlfriend was giddy

I'll never understand why I married her

The first time I saw my name in print RED, I was thrilled.

My first LoC (comic term for Letter of Comment) was in a book called HERO ALLIANCE. I was reading the lettercol and noticed the letter I was reading sounded familiar. Took me a few to realize it was mine (comics are printed months in advance so the letter was nearly 6 months old)

I now have literally HUNDREDS of magazines with my name in them (and the pseudonyms). It is still a kick.

Google --- anal fantasy --- and see if I come up as the first thing listed! It happened to me and I had another Litster do it and it happened to them too! See if it works in Canada too!!

If so ---- that was the highlight of my Lit. life so far. lol

Yeah, I can see that as being humorous. You don't want to paint yourself too important. Favoritism and all.

I Googled myself a few years back and found an entire website using my work (without permission). LIT got on them fast and they apologized and took it down, claiming the "person" who submitted it told them he had my permission. I am on other places on the web, but I know about those.

I no longer use Google Search if I can avoid it. Wayyy too many problems kept happening, so I removed it from my toolbar. I only use it if logged into my G-Mail account.

I showed and highlighted the others on the team, except for the end of the year wrap for the soccer team. I was the leading scorers, was a second team all-conference player.

I've told this story but my father coached soccer for years. My brother played and was often one of their best players. Long after he had stopped playing (he was married & might've even had his first child) my Dad was still coaching. My Mom actually told him he'd done more than his fair share (he had)

Before he gave it up, he used to have this really nice young fellow helping him coach. He would play a bit every so often, but not on a regular basis. My dad asked him why he didn't come out for the teams.

He told my father he was concentrating on his OTHER favorite sport, boxing.

Yeah, and part of the story from another angle got told by Lennox himself when he was interviewed by Playboy some years later. My dad wasn't mentioned by name, but the school and the soccer field both were.

My father was >< that close to becoming a Dodger, but they chose the coach's son instead of my dad. But that's okay, for if they had chosen my dad, I probably wouldn't be here.

They tipped well, Deion was when I worked at Chuck E Cheese. He bought dinner for his team, came in the back, gave ALL of us $20 bills.

I'm a 20% or $2, $3, or $5, which ever is larger.

I used to go to a Ruby Tuesdays for lunch once a week. My bill would come to $8something. I'd leave $12 exactly. When I'd come back the following week, I'd have servers fight over me LOL

Some places, though, I won't tip that much.
And when we go in a large group, we tip, even after the restaurant adds 18% onto the bill. Yeah, my family is THAT much a pain LOL

My in-laws are cheap when it comes to tipping. I never realized it until my sister told me. She's worked off and on as a server at several different area restaurants where my In-laws often eat. They ask for her if they know she's working and she waits on them all the time and when she doesn't, she hears about it from other workers about my in-laws tipping habits.

NO matter what the bill is - they put $5.00 on the table. That's it!

She told me that it doesn't matter if it is just the two of them, or if it is all of us, them, my family of 5 and my brother-in-law and his wife and child. I told my sis that next time that she is a server for our group I'll slip her some extra money!

Groups of 7 or more in this state, restaurants can add 18% on automatically.

Christmas Eve, the restaurant waved it for our group of 23, because several knew the head chef. We ended up giving like a 33% tip LOL
