I enjoy taking the right girl over my knee and I have two basic methods: one is just overhand, along the lines of swatting a fly. The other is sidearmed, that is I sweep over her legs and whack the bottom of her cheeks. I prefer to go sidearm, but I've noticed that sometimes after a really long secession my elbow feels tight. I'm not really worried about Tommy-John surgery, but I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem.

Silly yes, uncommon, I guess not. I have what have been called "double-jointed" elbows, though I'm sure that's not an accurate description. Essentially, my elbows rotate more than normal and because of this an arm motion that keeps the elbow locked at a certain angle for a while becomes irritating (i.e., swinging a golf club or properly holding a cue stick). Try reversing the motion occasionally to break it up (swat backward, from back toward thigh) to vary the elbow's angle and keep it loose.

Not to mention, this will give some attention to the upper buttocks which can easily be neglected in a sidearm delivery.

Happy swatting!

It's generally a good idea to switch things up occasionally to keep 'em guessing as much as avoiding repetitive motion injuries. I also agree with SirTrain on being thorough. Varying angle should reduce joint fatigue, and cover more area, keeping you both happy.
