Can I join your commune? I have a wonderful gay man friend who would LOVE to decorate our house AND watch the little darlings!
 
Since when does 'dad' equal 'sperm donor', and nothing else? And when did a marriage stop being a partnership? When i grew up, both of my parents worked, both of them took care of us, and both of them took responsibility around the house. My dad has ALWAYS done teh laundry, as long as I can remember, and when one cooked, the other did the dishes. When my dad had the day off, he became the 'housewife' and vice versa.

Mine can be, when the mood strikes him or he's out of underwear, or the computer happens to be down (hmmm...maybe I shouldn't have pulled that wire out. *WEG*). Then, he will be the man I thought I married and can be a good dad for the kids from time to time.

And yeah, I'm thinkin my best friend would HAVE to be a member of the commune. Who else is gonna think that riding thoroughbreds when it's 20 degrees is a good idea?
 
Seriously, I know quite a few guys who see their wife as some sort of servant, and think she has it easy because she doesn't work. One guy I work with on night shift has his wife bring him his dinner every night at 9 pm, because he WILL have his meals hot when he eats them. Another refuses to lift a finger around his house, ever, even though his wife works too.
Some of us single guys get really pissed off at this sort of behavior, because they have something that we would love to have, and they take it for granted.

I wonder though... is there some of that 'grass is greener' thing goin on?

The reality is, I'm a 29 year old mother of two who's lookin at being single sometime in the near future. One of the things that scares the hell out of me is the prospect of being alone forever because there just aren't that many guys out there looking to get involved with an entire family.

I look around these and things are changing drastically....Men and women are sharing the household responsibilties alot more than they ever did....Honestly, I can't believe that anyone thinks a stay at home has it easy....Last year I took care of my godson 7, his sister 3, and my neice 5...for seven days I almost had a complete and total break-down lol....Going back to work was a god-send lol.........:p
 
I've been on both sides...I liked having a family tons more than I like being single. Even though the person I was with turned out to be different from who she pretended to be, before she started cheating on me I never wondered if it would be better to be single. I really loved having her and her kid around, i thought it was fucking swell...even if she never did any housework.

Yes, men and women do share more household responsibilities than they did a few decades ago...but, surveys and studies (don't ask me to point to exact ones, I didn't remember that much!) indicate that women still do about 80 percent of the household chores even while working full time. Things have gotten better for the most part, but there is still some undercurrent of feelings that house work is women's work.

Oh. I've been putting the vanilla vodka IN the Fairy Tea. Dammit, once again, I fucked something up.

And you have to have someone fetch your vanilla vodka and fill your flask for those long rides in the snow and 20 degree weather! Who better to do it than the equal idiot riding next to you? :D

That's MUCH more serious than war injuries. You really ought to have that checked out, it could be fatal, or at the very least, detrimental to your well-being.

Oh, I know my son told me I have hair all over my body. Like little wires poking out. It's scarry.
 
I would rather work 12 hours at a factory job than be stuck with all of the housework. It never ends..laundry, ironing, cooking, dishes, all of that stuff. I'm single, and I do all of that stuff for myself...why would I stop doing it because I got married? I'd love to find teh right woman and settle down, but if my main goal is to get someone else to do the housework, I'll hire a maid!
 
I'll do all the housework, just don't leave me alone with the kids ok????;)
