Re: he will figure it out
Thank you so much both of you...this is so hard not having a man around...My mom never knew how to talk to me about sex..she still gets embarassed when someone starts to talk about sex...When I asked how babies are born, she bought me a book...
looking back at it, it was pretty funny, it showed how all the different animals fucked to get babies, but when it got to the humans, it just showed the man and woman laying side by side in bed, under the covers! Well I knew it was through sex, but I wanted to know HOW!!!! LOL. We already had some what of a talk about sex when he was younger and I really got in too deep, it went over his head...he asked me how he got in my stomach and I told him God put him there and he said yea, but how did God put him in there. So I told him that we had sex and that is how babies get in the woman's stomach...he said ok. and then after had a few minutes to digest it. He said "YOU HAD SEX!!!!" I thought I was going to die!
StevenWill said:I hate to sound like a college professor but, oops, I am. Men discover self pleasure naturally.
As was said on here before, their penis is out in the open and they touch it when they urinate. Boys are also more likely to admit masturbation to other boys and even masturbate with other boys. If you sat him down to talk about it, he might clam up. However, if a chance to say something does come up, just be positive in affirming the pleasure and naturalness of masturbation.
Also, I think the Boston Women's Health Collective has an "Our Bodies Our Selves" for kids. Reading that might spark some questions from him. And it is a good time to start talking about accepting his body and respecting other's bodies and not being judjmental.
We are talking about penis size and most of the problem is men not liking their penises instead of women not liking them. Women have a much more complex sexuality than just wanting something big in their vaginas--and as we have seen, there are vegetables that can serve that purpose. Young girls also are self conscious about their genitals too and that makes them have trouble letting go.
When I was young, in a sexual situation I said to a girl off handedly, "you have such a pretty pussy." She started to cry!!! Not bad though, she had never heard anyone say that or even use the word "pussy" and she was mortified that her genitals were ugly. She was transformed into a little exhibitionist in the very best sense of the term. Much fun followed.
The bottom line is support your partner. Sex is a team sport, not an opportunity to be judged as adequate or not.
Sorry to be long winded.
Steve
