Ram Upgrade

Hey, I just upgraded my RAM from 64 to 192.....can I expect my computer to run better even though I never really used all my available ram at 64? Also, will this make the net run smoother?

Also.....when I installed my software for my digi camera it installed "Quick Time" all over the place....all my jpegs (in file format) took on a Quick Time Logo.....and they all needed to be viewed in a quick time viewer....bahhhh....I uninstalled QT, and my jpegs are back to normal, but now I cant play videos on my comp....I have real audio player, and Windows media player......how do I make WMP my default player to play all my cool pornos??????????

i just did the exact same thing on my other 'puter.

It should speed up things like repainting windows and other such mundane issues that it used to need to keep on the HD

I dont think it'll speed up your connection thou

Well I dint figure it would help the net connection....I have a networked cable deal and the kids comp seems to run faster than mine...it is the primary computer on the network, but I think they also have a 500mhz or maybe 750 or so mhz processor...I have only a 350mhz.

Maybe that has something to do with it too.

You need to go into explore and select tools option and then the 'folder options' and then the file type tab. Find the extensions you want to change and then edit them to use whichever viewer you like. Or just remove it all together and realplayer should ask you if you want to make it the default player.

No its a clone......with an amd processor.

Ok I went to the file types deal and found what I am looking for but cant seem to set as a default any particular player....I choose browse, and I set the Windows Media Player, and it tells me that its an incorrect file path....UGH.....smae thing with real player.....Im clicking them in there off the desktop file........any suggestions?

When I bring something up, it askes me which player I want to use. Doesn't really cause much of a problem.

just delete it in the file types.

in explorer it wont have any assosiation now. when you 2x click on it it will ask again what program you want to use with it.

Yeah I have fooled with the players themselves tryong to make them the default and cant find that...I know it has to be there....and now I cant seem to remember how I got to the file types tab.....UGH
I go to options and cant navigate it.

OK...Yay....I finally found the area in WMP to set it as the default and I am back on the air.....I had found it before but instead of clicking the apply button I think I just clicked OK....

I like to sit in class and alternately program my calculator to do cool shit and write poetry. I never get paid for the programming thing, but I've made some good cash from the poetry.
